Shimon resigns from Southern Door girls basketball post

Southern Door School District is on the search for a new girls' basketball coach.

Jason Shimon turned in his letter of resignation this week, indicating to the district that he is stepping away due to health concerns. The district thanks Shimon for his years on the job and wish him the best.

The search for an interim head coach has already begun. Shimon was 15-6 last year, leading the Eagles to the WIAA Regional Semifinals. The Eagles lost to Shiocton in their season opener on Tuesday 59-34 behind 12 points from Ashlyn Delfosse and 11 points from Payton Gilbertson.
