Jacobson sends Spartans soccer to next round

The Luxemburg-Casco soccer team fought to live another day in the WIAA Soccer Tournament, scoring in the 96th minute to win 2-1 in overtime.

After a scoreless first half, Emi Kuhn opened the scoring in the 51st minute with an unassisted tally. After Abby Roecker scored in the 71st minute, it would be over 25 minutes before the game was decided. That's when Cassidee Jacobson buried the pass by Diem Bonness to send the Spartans onto the next round. It was not because of a lack of effort by the Spartans' offense as they forced Waupun's Markiya Uherka to make 15 saves. The Spartans' Ashley Fameree made five saves in the win.
