Volleyball kicks off season Tuesday

The road to the state tournament at the Resch Center begins on Tuesday when the area's seven volleyball teams hit the court.

Luxemburg-Casco looks to build on its legacy in 2023, even if it means they get bumped to Division 1 next year thanks to the WIAA's new Competitive Balance rule. Last year, they fell in the sectional semi-final to eventual state champion Xavier in straight sets. The loss broke a string of three straight state titles.

Sevastopol was Door County's team as they were able to advance to the sectional semifinal where they fell to Packerland Conference rival NEW Lutheran in four sets. Southern Door was the only other local Packerland Conference team, let alone Door County squad, to win more than one match in the WIAA Tournament.

Matches can begin as soon as next Tuesday.
