Regional champion Spartans golf team look to lock in state berth

The Luxemburg-Casco golf team made up of Zachary Smith, James Glampe, Josh Parins, Michael Otradovec, and Caden Lukes hope to play well enough to earn a round at University Ridge in Madison for the state meet next month.

 

Regional champions Luxemburg-Casco will tee off in the Marinette Sectional as a part of the fifth group. They will be joined by golfers from Ripon and Oconto Falls.

 

Groups begin to tee off at 10 a.m.

Spartans battle conference foe Freedom for sectional title berth

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team will have to battle its third straight NEC opponent Tuesday when they travel to Freedom to take on the Irish.

 

With the game tied 3-3 against Denmark last Thursday in the regional title game, The Spartans answered with four in the bottom of the sixth to regain the lead by loading the bases with Josie Dorner's leadoff double, Mady Bouche's single, and Sierra Jonet's base on ball. Grace Kahr cleared the bases with a one out triple and scored on a throwing error. The Spartans would go on to win 7-4.

 

The top-seeded Irish won its last game 2-0 over Seymour after beating Fox Valley Lutheran 15-0. The Irish dealt the Spartans their only NEC losses of the season, shutting them out 1-0 and 5-0 in consecutive games on April 29th at VFW Park. 

 

Gametime in Freedom is set for 4:30 p.m.

Spartans host Wrightstown in regional semi-final on 104.1 WRLU

The #2 seeded Luxemburg-Casco Spartans will host the #3 seeded Wrightstown Tigers in a WIAA Division 2 regional semi-final baseball on Tuesday afternoon.  The Spartans are coming off a convincing 12-0 win over the Sturgeon Bay Clippers last Thursday.  L-C Pitcher Owen Deprez dominated with 12 strikeouts while pitching a perfect five-inning game.

 

Wrightstown advanced by nipping Fox Valley Lutheran 1-0 in the regional opener.

   

Paul Schmitt and Tyler Thrune will have the call with the pregame set for 4 pm on 104.1 WRLU and streamed on New Radio Sports Network.  The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm from the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Complex. 

Spartans soccer sink Ships on Senior Night

The Luxemburg-Casco girls' soccer team would not let their senior class lose their final home game, coming back from 1-0 to win 3-1 Thursday night.

 

Down 1-0 after one half of action, Haley Paye, Heather Iverson and Lydia Morozov delivered the goals to send the Spartans with a victory ahead of the WIAA tournament opener next week against Winneconne.


Tabi Lemens had four saves in the win.

Spartans softball answers Denmark rally to win regional

Luxemburg-Casco defeated Denmark 7-4 to capture the Regional Championship.

 

After retiring the Vikings in order in the top of the inning the Spartans loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the first on Grace Kahr's leadoff single and walks to Payton Kaminski and Lauren Adams. Kylie Hanson's RBI sac fly scored Kahr and Josie Dorner's two out RBI single scored Kaminski to put LC ahead 2-0. LC scored one in the second when Sierra Jonet reached on an error and scored on Payton Kaminski's RBI triple.  

 

LC maintained the 3-0 lead through five innings with solid defense highlighted by two double plays started by Kylie Hanson.

 

Denmark tied the game with three in the top of the sixth started by Dakota Brice's leadoff double, Tara Dellemann's two out RBI single which scored Olivia Allen, Megan Johnson's single and Ashlyn Schultz's two RBI single scoring Dellemann and Johnson.

 

Luxemburg-Casco answered with four in the bottom of the sixth to regain the lead by loading the bases with Josie Dorner's leadoff double, Mady Bouche's single, and Sierra Jonet's base on ball. Grace Kahr cleared the bases with a one out triple and scored on a throwing error.

 

Denmark's first two hitters reached base in the seventh and scored the final run of the game on Olivia Ullman's RBI sac fly for the final of 7-4

 

LC will now play the winner of tomorrow's game between Freedom and Seymour. Today's scheduled game was cancelled due to poor field conditions.

Larson wins title, Spartans qualify nine for state track meet

The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans Track team will send athletes from nine different events to next week's state track meet after their appearance at Thursday's sectionals hosted by Little Chute.

 

Logan Vandermause responded to an eight-place finish in his 200m dash with a personal record to qualify for state with a third place finish. John Larson also had a personal record in the 300m to win the event while a second personal best helped in qualify in the 110m hurdles. George Herlache, Taylor Thiry, and Grace Holschuh used personal records in their respective events to punch tickets to LaCrosse. The boys 4x200m and Isaac Vandenbush will also be heading to state track meet by finishing in the top four of their events.

Deprez perfect in Spartans' romp over Clippers on 104.1 WRLU

Owen Deprez struck out the first seven men he faced and cruised through five innings en route to a perfect game and a 12-0 Luxemburg-Casco win over Sturgeon Bay Thursday evening.

 

Deprez would go on to strike out 12 on the day with no walks while facing the minimum. Clippers pitcher Jace Johnson was matching Deprez early thanks to great defense behind him despite giving up base runners. 

 

The Spartans' 10-run rally started with a base runner reaching on a drop third strike and a pair of bunt singles. They would go on to bat around before registering their first out, collecting eight hits along the way. The Spartans would go on to score a pair of runs in the fifth inning to put the game away early. Deprez, Max Ronsman,  and Ryland Day all had multiple hit days.  

 

Johnson took the loss for the Clippers, giving up 10 of the Spartans' 12 runs.

 

The Spartans will host Wrightstown at home on Tuesday after the Tigers beat Fox Valley Lutheran 1-0.

 

 

Spartans softball hosts NEC rival for regional finale

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team will play NEC rival Denmark for a chance at sectionals next week.

 

Rebecca Kroll allowed just one hit, while striking out 12, as the Luxemburg-Casco Spartans defeated the Little Chute Mustangs 9-2 in the Division 2 Regional Semi-Final matchup in Luxemburg. The Spartans had 13 hits on the night. Leading the way from the plate for L-C , Josie Dorner 3 for 3 with 3RBI, Mady Bouche 3 for 4, Lauren Adams 2 for 4 with a triple and 2 runs scored and Kylie Hanson went 2x3 with a double, 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs.

 

The Vikings earned their spot with a 7-5 win over Oconto Falls, their 10th win out of the last 11 games.

 

The two teams last played each other in late April with the Spartans sweep the two-game series by scores of 15-5 and 6-3.

 

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

Luxemburg-Casco soccer hosts tournament tune-up against Manitowoc Lincoln

The tournament is a week away, but that is not stopping the Luxemburg-Casco soccer from getting some extra work in, this time at home against Manitowoc Lincoln.

 

The Spartans have lost their last three matches, including two this week against Marinette (2-1) and Green Bay East (3-1). Manitowoc Lincoln is finding the win column again after a season-long 14-match losing streak. Even with snapping that losing streak, they have won only two of their last five matches.

 

Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.

Over 20 Spartans to represent Luxemburg-Casco at sectional track meet

Almost a full bus will be heading to sectionals this Thursday after a strong day at the Wrightstown Regional for the Luxemburg-Casco Track Team.

 

Event winners include John Larson (both hurdles events) and Taylor Thiry (discus). Other qualifiers include Thiry (shot put), Autumn Flynn, Grace Holschuh, George Herlache, girls 4x800m, Alexis Vogt, Grace Seering, girls 4x200m, boys 4x200, girls 4x100m, McKenna Rank, Logan Vandermause, girls 4x400m, boys 4x800m, and Spencer Thiry.

Spartans softball opens tournament play against Little Chute

The battle of LC's will set the tone for the road to Madison for Luxemburg-Casco softball as they host Little Chute.

 

Finishing the season with a 20-4 record, the Spartans beat Little Chute 11-0 on May 2nd to kick off a stretch where they went 10-2 over 12 games.

 

The Mustangs prevailed against Notre Dame in their season finale last week 11-10, ending the year with a 4-18 mark.

 

First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.

L-C baseball whacked by Freedom

A pair of unearned runs was all Luxemburg-Casco could muster in a 12-2 loss to Freedom.

 

A game after the Spartans banged out 17 hits, it was Freedom's Jace Midbon that played the role of stopper. He pitched a complete-game four-hitter to limit the Spartans offensively. Midbon helped his own cause as well, collecting three hits and two RBI. 

 

The Spartans will now host Sturgeon Bay on Thursday in a game that will be broadcast on 104.1 WRLU.

Spartans soccer lose to Marinette, travel to Green Bay East

Tabi Lemens made five saves, and Heather Iverson tallied a goal but it wasn't enough in Luxemburg-Casco's 2-1 loss to Marinette.

 

Chloe Seymour and Sierra Schreiner scored the Marines goals to lift them past their NEC rivals.

 

The Spartans will play at City Stadium Tuesday night when they play Green Bay East. The Red Devils have lost their four matches by a combined score of 16-0.

 

Tuesday's first touch will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Spartans baseball battle Irish at home

Luxemburg-Casco will take its turn hosting its home-and-home series against Freedom on Monday.

 

The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team had a big offensive day in a 10-3 win over Freedom.

 

The Spartans banged out 17 hits with Peyton Mrotek picking up four hits and Max Ronsman and Ryland Day slapping out three of their own.

The Spartans have split their last six matches as they continue to get shut out or shut out their opponents. They lost to Fox Valley Lutheran 2-0 in their last match, which snapped a two-match winning streak against Waupaca and Little Chute. They will face Winneconne when they open tournament play next week. 

 

The Marines have won two of their last three matches, including a 3-2 win over Freedom their last time out.

 

Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

L-C baseball wins soaks through Clintonville, faces Freedom Saturday

The Spartans traveled to Clintonville on a rainy day, returning home victorious with a 9-1 win.

 

Leading the Spartans in hitting was Owen Deprez 2x4, Cole Jauquet 3x3, and Garrett Simonar 2x3. Ryan Routhieaux was the winning pitcher, and pitched the first 4 innings for the win, and Blake Robillard pitched the last 3. The Truckers only could manage 3 hits on the night. The losing pitcher for the Truckers was Kade Rosenow.

 

The Spartans travel to Freedom on Saturday with a showdown with the Irish. After a seven game winning streak, the Irish have lost two of their last three games including a back end split against Fox Valley Lutheran and Jefferson.

 

First pitch is at 11.

Spartans softball pick up pair of tournament tune-up wins

While many teams have already started their trek to Madison for the WIAA softball tournament, Luxemburg-Casco keeps winning before they officially enter the field. 

 

Thursday, May 19

The Spartans came away with a 5-1 non-conference victory over the DePere Redbirds. Emily Jandrin threw a complete game, striking out 5. Leading LC offensively were Grace Kahr 2x3, 2 RBI, Kylie Hanson 2x4, double, and Maddy Bouche 2x4.

 

Friday, May 20

Luxemburg-Casco traveled to Winneconne to take on the Wolves in a non-conference matchup. The Spartans scored one run in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three in the seventh to shut out the Wolves 6-0. Rebecca Kroll picked up the win on the mound for the Spartans.   Cami Onell and Anna Vandermause lead LC  offensively, going 2x2 with a triple and 2x3 respectively. Kutnick, Kollat, Stille & Biesinger each singled for Winneconne.

 

The Spartans open tournament play on Tuesday when they host Little Chute.

Spartans soccer shut out by Fox Valley Lutheran

Despite being outshot 34-1 on the afternoon, the Luxemburg-Casco soccer only lost to NEC-leading Fox Valley Lutheran 2-0 Thursday.

 

Tabi Lemens stopped 13 of the 15 shots she faced on net while giving up tallies to the Foxes' Emily Dobberuhl and Nina Hartjes.

 

The Spartans will learn their WIAA Tournament placement this weekend.

Spartans soccer heads to Fox Valley Lutheran

The Luxemburg-Casco soccer team heads to Fox Valley Lutheran to build on their success earlier this week.

 

Lydia Morozov scored two goals and Heather Iverson, Haley Paye and Cadence Trimberger each tallied one in the Spartans 5-0 win over Waupaca on Tuesday. Morozov, Iverson and Trimberger each collected assists in the victory while Tabi Lemens garnered four saves.

 

The Foxes have won 10 of their last 11 matches after starting the season 0-4. 

 

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

Lady Spartans top Algoma

The Luxmeburg-Casco Spartans defeated the Algoma Wolves by a score of 9-3 in Luxemburg on Tuesday evening in a non-conference softbal game.

 

Spartan Pitcher Emily Jandrin picked up the win, giving up only two hits.   L-C scored one run in the first on Grace Kahr's single and Lauren Adam's RBI double.  The Spartans put two more on the board in the third when Grace Kahr and Payton Kaminski reached on walks and scored on Kylie Hanson's double.  The Wolves tied the game in the forth before L-C broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning scoring runs on Anna Vandermause's single, Kylie Hanson's single, Maddy Bouche's single and Emily Jandrin's double.

 

Rylee Fenendael took the loss for the Wolves, striking out 9, while walking 3.  Fenendael and Ryley Zimmerman had the only hits for Algoma, a triple and single respectively.

Spartans baseball stalls Truckers

The Truckers of Clintonville trucked into Luxemburg on Monday night. and left with a 11-1 loss.

 

The scoring started in the 2nd inning with Blake Robillard leading off with a solo home run, adding two runs in the frame.

 

Ryan Routhieaux led the 3rd with a single to start a five-run inning, followed by Owen Deprez single to score Routhieaux. Peyton Mrotek followed up with a double, his 1st of 2 on the night to Deprez. Chris VandenWhelen, Jacob Degrave, and Ryland Day had three straight singles to finish the scoring in the 3rd. Routhieaux lead the 4th off again with a single, later advanced to 3rd on a Max Ronsman single, and later scored on Deprez sacrifice fly.

 

The 5th inning started off with a walk and 3 straight hits to defeat the Truckers.

 

The leading hitters for the Spartans were Routhieaux 2x4, Ronsman 2x4, Blake Robillard 3x4, Peyton Mrotek 2x2, and Chris VandenWhelen 2x2. Deprez was the winning pitcher for the Spartans, and Jack Yeager took the loss for the Truckers. The Spartans travel to Clintonville on Thursday night, with the first pitch coming at 4:30.

Spartans baseball returns to conference play Monday

After a non-conference win on Saturday, the Luxemburg-Casco baseball teams heads back to the NEC to face Clintonville on Monday.

 

The Preble Hornets flew into Luxemburg for a showdown with the Spartans. The Spartans won the showdown by a score of 6-4. Leading the way for the Spartans was Ryan Routhieaux going 2x3 with a home run. Drew Bandow went the distance for the Spartans while giving up 6 hits. Ben Hess took the loss for the Hornets. The Truckers have lost six of their last eight games, including a split against Fox Valley Lutheran sandwiched between sweeps by Denmark and Freedom.

 

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

 

 

Spartans baseball end weekend with two wins

The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team won their Friday and Saturday games to build some positive momentum ahead of the state tournament series.

 

FRIDAY

The Spartans traveled to the valley, to play the home and home game against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes. The Spartans were victorious again, with a score of 12-4. Leading the Spartans in hitting were Ryan Routhieaux 3x5, Owen Deprez 2x3, and Peyton Mrotek 2x5. Routhieaux was the winning pitcher and Owen Gerherdt took the loss for the Foxes.

 

SATURDAY

The Preble Hornets flew into Luxemburg for a showdown with the Spartans. The Spartans won the showdown by a score of 6-4. Leading the way for the Spartans was Ryan Routhieaux going 2x3 with a home run. Drew Bandow went the distance for the Spartans while giving up 6 hits. Ben Hess took the loss for the Hornets. 

 

Larson, Thiry, Holschuh win NEC Track titles

Both teams took fourth but three Luxemburg-Casco athletes took home top honors at Friday's NEC Championships.

 

John Larson won the 300m hurdles to pace the boys team while Taylor Thiry (shot put) and Grace Holschuh (long jump) won title to lead the girls.

Spartans baseball edged by Tritons

The Tritions of Nortre Dame came to town to take on the Spartans of Luxemburg Casco and left with a 7-6 win.

 

The offense was lead by Ryan Routhieaux 2x3, Peyton Mrotek 2x4 and Owen Deprez with 3 RBI's. Braeden Schley took the loss. The Spartans will travel to the valley on Friday with a showdown with the Foxes of Fox Valley Lutheran. The two teams squared off on Tuesday with the Spartans taking the game 8-5. The Foxes have lost three of their last four games.

 

First pitch is 4:30.

 

 

L-C baseball to host Notre Dame Academy

The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team will welcome Notre Dame Academy for a Thursday non-conference matinee.

 

The Spartans prevailed over Fox Valley Lutheran with a 8-5 victory. Ryan Routhieaux and Peyton Mrotek led the Spartans in hitting both going 2x3. The winning pitcher was Owen Deprez.

 

The Tritons snapped a seven-game losing streak on Tuesday, winning the back half of its doubleheader against Ashwaubenon 5-0.

 

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Spartans soccer sails to Marinette

Luxemburg-Casco girls' soccer will visit Marinette on Thursday for a NEC matchup.

 

The Spartans shut out Little Chute 5-0 on Tuesday. Haley Paye scored two goals and Heather Iverson, Lydia Morozov, and Cadence Trimberger registered tallies. Tabi Lemens made five saves in the victory.


The Marines are 3-1-5 on the season including a 0-0 draw against Denmark earlier this week.

 

Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

 

 

Spartan baseball tops Fox Valley Lutheran in NEC action

On Tuesday night the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes traveled to Luxemburg-Casco to take on the Spartans in a North Eastern Conference baseball matchup. On a windy night the Spartans prevailed with a 8-5 victory. Ryan Routhieaux and Peyton Mrotek led the Spartans in hitting both going 2x3. The winning pitcher was Owen Deprez. The Spartans are back in action Thursday in Luxemburg against the Tritions of Notre Dame Academy.

Spartans softball looks for second straight doubleheader sweep Monday

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team hopes to keep the brooms handy when they host another doubleheader Monday against Clintonville.

 

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team defeated the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes in both games of a doubleheader. The first game saw L-C’s Rebecca Kroll throw a no-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts. Kroll also went 2-3 at the plate. Mady Bouche added a triple with 3 RBI’s, and Grace Karr also added a triple. Final score : LC-7, FVL-0. The nightcap featured Emily Jandrin throwing a 3 hit performance while striking out 3. Lauren Adams went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s, and Jandrin helped her own cause by going 2-2. Baumbach, Krull and Lemberger all singled for the Foxes. Final score: LC-13, FVL-2.

 

The Truckers have followed a five-game winning streak by getting swept in two consecutive doubleheaders at the hands of Wrightstown and Denmarl. They have given up at least 10 runs in their last three contests.

 

Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.

Spartans softball sweeps Fox Valley Lutheran

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team defeated the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes in both games of a double header. 

 

The first game saw L-C’s Rebecca Kroll throw a no hit shut out with 11 strike outs. Kroll also went 2-3 at the plate. Mady Bouche added a triple with 3 RBI’s and Grace Karr also added a triple. Final score : LC-7, FVL-0.

 

The nightcap featured Emily Jandrin throwing a 3 hit performance while striking out 3. Lauren Adams went 2-4 with 3 RBI’s and Jandrin helped her own cause going 2-2. Baumbach, Krull and Lemberger all singled for the Foxes. Final score: LC-13, FVL-2.

Spartans soccer shut out by Wrightstown

The feast or famine season story continues for the Luxemburg-Casco girls' soccer team as they lost to Wrightstown 4-0.

 

All of the Spartans' wins and losses have come during shutouts so far this season. Tabi Lemens registered 23 saves in the defeat for the Spartans.

Spartans double up Thunder on softball diamond

The Luxemburg-Casco softball did not let a rough start bother them as they went on to beat Seymour 8-4 Thursday night.

 

The Thunder struck first scoring two runs on two errors in the first inning.  The Spartans then tied things up in the second inning and went on to score 2 more runs in the third, 3 in the forth,  and one in the fifth.   Seymour added one run in both the 5th and 7th innings, making the final score 8-4.

 

Emily Jandrain earned the victory while striking out four.

 

Grace Kahr led the Spartans going 2-for-3,with two doubles and two RBI's, Rebecca Kroll added a double and two RBI's, and Josie Dorner added a single that drove in two runs.

L-C soccer visit Wrightstown Thursday

The Luxemburg-Casco soccer team looks to build on their success earlier this week when they travel to Wrightstown for a NEC matchup. 

 

The Spartans' Haley Paye scored a pair of goals within minutes of each other to help lead the team over Sevastopol/Gibraltar. The team has not allowed a goal in their four wins and have not scored in their six losses. The Tigers picked up their first win of the season last Thursday when they beat Denmark 2-1 after starting their season with five straight losses.

 

The match begins at 4:30 p.m.

Spartans softball battle against Thunder

Luxemburg-Casco softball will stay at home for a single game at 4:30 p.m. against Seymour on Thursday.

 

Winning pitcher Emily Jandrin threw a complete game, six-inning, two-hitter with six strikeouts while the offense took care of the rest as Luxemburg-Casco won the game over Little Chute 11-0 earlier this week. The Thunder are 6-6 during their streaky year. The team has alternated between two-game losing streaks and three game-winning streaks. They have lost their last two games to Chilton 8-5 and Menasha 4-3.

 

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Spartans fall in rare Wednesday game against Wrightstown

Wednesday night the Spartans traveled to Wrightstown.where they could not muster much offense in a 5-1 loss to the Tigers.

 

The leading hitters for the Spartans was Owen Deprez 2x3. Ryan Routhieaux gave up 5 hits and took the lost in 5 innings pitched. Trevor Vandenhey was the winning pitcher for the Tigers. Nathan Hansen and Jack Severson each had two hits in the victory for the Tigers with Hansen driving in three and Severson scoring thrice.

L-C track visits Oconto Falls for triangular

The Luxemburg-Casco track team will head back to NEC Triangular action on Tuesday in Oconto Falls.

 

Clintonville and Oconto Falls will be the other two schools competing. Logan Vandermause, Spencer Thiry, John Larson, Girls 4x100m Relay, Girls 4x200m, Taylor Thiry, Grace Holschuh, Isaac VandenBush, and George Neville all won individual event titles for the Spartans at their invitational last week.

 

The first events are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.

Spartans soccer battles Sevastopol/Gibraltar at home

The Luxemburg-Casco girls' soccer team will get another attempt at beating a Packerland Conference opponent on Tuesday when they play at home against Sevastopol/Gibraltar.

 

The Spartans were shut out 2-0 in their last game against Sturgeon Bay. It was fourth straight loss for the Spartans and the ninth time their game has been decided by a shutout (3-6).

 

The Vikineers are 0-4-2 on the season and have only tallied two goals.

 

Match time is set for 6:30 p.m.

Spartans baseball's hot streak continues against Wrightstown

The Wrightstown Tigers traveled to Luxemburg Monday and left with a loss as the Spartans beat the Tigers 5-3.

 

Leading hitters were Peyton Mrotek 2x3, and Garrett Simonar was 2x3. Owen Deprez was the winning pitcher, and Blake Robillard got the save. The Spartans travel to Wrightstown tomorrow. 

Luxemburg-Casco softball dash away Little Chute

Winning pitcher Emily Jandrin threw a complete game, six-inning, two-hitter with six strikeouts while the offense took care of the rest as Luxemburg-Casco won the game over Little Chute 11-0.

 

The Spartans scored three runs in the first inning when Lauren Adams' triple scored Grace Kahr and Payton Kaminski. Adams later scored on a passed ball.  Luxemburg-Casco scored two more in the sixth on Rebecca Kroll's RBI hit and five in the sixth highlighted by Kroll's two RBI double and an Emily Jandrin RBI single.

The Spartans will hit the road Tuesday to face Kewaunee. An early lead over the Oconto Blue Devils turned into a 7-4 loss for the Kewaunee Storm softball team in their last game on Saturday. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

Spartans baseball brings streak home to face Wrightstown

The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team hopes its three-game winning streak continues Monday when they welcome Wrightstown to town.

 

The Spartans took the back end of its series against Waupaca and swept its home-and-home against Marinette to get back into the thick of NEC.

 

The Spartans will have to stop a seven-game winning streak in order to continue theirs. The Tigers lost their first three games before going on their roll. That included sweeps against Marinette and Fox Valley Lutheran last week.

 

First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Spartans softball looks to bounce back against Little Chute

The Luxemburg-Casco softball team hopes its foray into the loss column is short when they travel to Little Chute on Monday.

 

After starting out 10-0, the Spartans suffered a pair of setbacks to Freedom their last time out by 1-0 and 5-0 scores. The streak included a no-hitter in the first game.

 

The Mustangs are 2-11, losing to Marinette their last time out 11-0.

 

Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
