Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door, Kewaunee travel to Reedsville for invite

Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door, and Kewaunee's cross country teams will all make the trip south Thursday to run at Reedsville.

 

The three Packerland teams will face the likes of Valders, Brillion, Chilton, Hilbert, Manitowoc Lutheran, Mishicot, Oconto Falls, Roncalli, Denmark, and St. Ignatius when their races kick off at Reedsville Elementary School at 4 p.m.

 

Julia Kurek paced the girls' team at Mishicot last week that finished in 11th place with a 5K time of 22:11. That was good for 19th overall. Jace Johnson led the way for the boys' team with a 5K time of 19:19. The boys finished in 15th place with 380 points.

 

 

Clipper volleyball prevails over Storm

Sturgeon Bay Volleyball defeated the Kewaunee Storm Tuesday night in four games.  The Clippers won by scores of 25-8, 24-26, 25-23, and 25-18. 

Emma Reichel led the way for the Clippers with 29 digs while Mallory Barker added 14 more.  Hannah Sternard had a big game setting up her teammates with 52 asists.  Cate Anderson had 14 kills and Sydney Jeanquart added 12 more.  

Sturgeon Bay golf visits West De Pere

The Sturgeon Bay girls golf team heads south on Tuesday for a Bay Conference golf meet.

 

The Clippers will be joined by the host team West De Pere, Bonduel, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Oconto, Seymour, Shawano Community, and Xavier. The meet will take place at Mid-Vallee Golf Course beginning at 10 a.m. 

Clippers soccer starts slow but finished strong against De Pere on 96.7 WBDK

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers Soccer traveled to De Pere High School for a Division One battle with the Redbirds and were able to leave with a 3-2 victory.

 

Valenzuela struck first for the Redbirds in the 11th minute. Then Isaac Schulz was able to connect on a Spencer Hubbard corner kick, leveling the score 1-1 in the 20th minute. After halftime, Robert Alas put the Clippers ahead in the 52nd minute on a cross from Porter Gigstead. De Pere wasn’t done as Valenzuela tied the score in the 57th minute with his second of the game. Two minutes later, Alas was able to break down the Redbirds’ defense and put away his second of the game giving the Clippers a 3-2 lead in the 59th minute and that’s where the final score would hold with the Clippers leaving Cloud Family Field with the victory.

 

Sturgeon Bay returns to Packerland play Thursday against Sheboygan Falls.

DCU captures Plymouth Invite title

The Door County United girls high school swim team had yet another successful win at the Plymouth Panther Invite on Saturday, September 25th, 2021. The DCU team beat out 7 other teams with a total team score of 493 points. The second-place team, Pulaski High School Swim and Dive scored 372 points to DCU’s 493. The team had individual first-place finishes in 8 out of 11 events in the meet. Julia Michalski (SBHS) had a fantastic meet, finishing first in every event which helped the team score 120 overall points. Additionally, Julia Kurek (SBHS) scored 31 points, and Molly Hall (SDHS) scored 24 of the total team points. The team saw some tough competition where Danica Neville (SDHS-50 Freestyle) and Sanya Weinke (SBHS- 100 Freestyle) both finished one-hundredths of a second faster to the next place finish. All the girls worked extremely hard for this win which included many swimmers finishing at their best times of the season. The 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, consisting of Julia Michalski (SBHS), Cassie Rankin (SEV), Danica Neville (SDHS), and Christy Braun (SBHS), dropped 3 seconds from their season-best time. The student-athletes will travel to Cedarburg on Saturday, October 2nd. Keep up the good work ladies!

Sturgeon Bay visits De Pere on 96.7 WBDK

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers look to extend their winning streak on the road Monday night when they pay a visit to the De Pere Redbirds.

 

The Clippers have won their last six matches and are 7-1-2 over their last 10 matches. That includes a 7-2 over Kiel that likely pushes the Clippers to another conference championship. The Redbirds are 5-4-2, but have lost three consecutive matches and have won only twice during the month of September. They lost to Seymour 1-0 in its last game on Saturday. 

 

The NEW Radio Sports Network will carry the game live on 96.7 WBDK and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening kick at 6:30 p.m.

Clippers football unable to close gap against Thorp

Sturgeon Bay dropped to 2-3 overall on the season after their loss to Thorp on Friday in their homecoming football game, 40-26. The Clippers were down at halftime, 22-10. In the second half, the Clippers fell behind by 22, 18 and 16 point margins, but would answer with a score each time. Unfortunately for Sturgeon Bay, those scores were as close as they got in the second half. The loss for Sturgeon Bay ends hopes of a three-game winning streak, but they’ll have a chance to start a new streak on Friday, October 1st at 7:00 PM when they play host to Athens. 

Sturgeon Bay volleyball gets win heading into weekend

The Sturgeon Bay Clipper volleyball team swept Green Bay NEW Lutheran for the second time this season on Thursday, which is also their second win of the season. Sturgeon Bay now has a 2-7 overall record and they will face Kewaunee at their place on Tuesday. In the spring season, the Clippers swept Kewaunee. The Storm have a 4-3 record so far this season and are coming off of a loss to Algoma. 

Kurek, Johnson leads Clippers in Mishicot

Sturgeon Bay's cross country teams held their own on a fast course facing some top-flight large school competition at the Jim Bremser Invitational in Mishicot Thursday.

 

Julia Kurek paced the girls' team that finished in 11th place with a 5K time of 22:11. That was good for 19th overall. Jace Johnson led the way for the boys' team with a 5K time of 19:19. The boys finished in 15th place with 380 points.

Clippers blow past Kiel on 96.7 WBDK

A match-up between the conference's top two teams turned into a blow-out in the first half as Sturgeon Bay toppled Kiel on Thursday.

 

Spencer Hubbard helped set up the first goal with an assist to Gigstead five minutes in before Robert Alas knocked in his first of two tallies in the ninth minute. Ben Luders made it 3-0 in the 12th minute before the Raiders were able to get one past the goalkeeper. Alas got his second goal more than 20 minutes later to give the Clippers a three-goal lead heading into the break. 

 

Fernandez would score two goals between the 54th and 57th minutes before Alex Reeths finished the scoring for the Clippers with a score in the 67th minute. Puchalla would score the Raiders' second goal in the 75th minute to cap off the scoring.

 

The Clippers' next game is Friday night in Wrightstown. Next game on WBDK will be on Monday in DePere at 6:30 p.m.  Pregame will begin at 6 p.m.. 

Sturgeon Bay to face familiar volleyball opponent

The Sturgeon Bay volleyball team will try to replicate their performance from Saturday when they beat Green Bay NEW Lutheran as the two teams square off again on Thursday in Sturgeon Bay. At the Ashwaubenon Invite, the Clippers won against GB NEW Lutheran 2-0. That was the only Clippers win so far this season, and a win on Thursday would be their first non-tourney win this year. 

 

The Clippers opponent, GB NEW Lutheran, has a 6-13 overall record to this point. The game will begin at 7:00 PM.

Six local cross country teams to race at Mishicot

The colors of several local cross country teams will be found Thursday afternoon as they zip around the course at Mishicot.

 

Sturgeon Bay, Gibraltar, Sevastopol, Luxemburg-Casco, Algoma, and Kewaunee are all scheduled to run at the invitational. Other teams competing on Thursday include West De Pere, Seymour, Brillion, Cedar Grove-Belgium, Chilton, Coleman, De Pere, Fox Valley Lutheran, Hilbert, Kiel, Little Chute, Manitowoc Lutheran, New Holstein, Oconto Falls, Ozaukee, Random Lake, Roncalli, Sheboygan Lutheran, Two Rivers, Oconto, Notre Dame De La Baie Academy, Bay Port, Oneida Nation, NEWCHAA, Reedsville, Denmark, and Wrightstown.

 

The Kewaunee boys and Luxemburg-Casco girls teams were the top area squads at the 2019 meet, which was the last time the local schools competed at the event.

 

The first varsity high school race is expected to begin at 4:15 p.m. with the boys followed by the girls at 4:50 p.m. 

 

 

Clippers soccer hosts Kiel on 96.7 WBDK

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team will look for its second win this homecoming week as they face-off against Kiel at Clark Field Thursday night.

 

Ben Luders scored a pair of goals including a penalty kick awarded to Sturgeon Bay in the 75th minute that he deposited in the lower right corner to give the Clippers the win 3-2 over Roncalli on Tuesday.

 

Kiel is also perfect in the EWC/Packerland Conference with a 5-0 record heading into its match against Sturgeon Bay. The Raiders went 2-1 in their own tournament last weekend with wins over St. Mary's Catholic and Kewaskum sandwiching a 2-0 loss to Kohler.

 

The game can be heard on 96.7 WBDK beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame followed by the opening kick at 7 p.m.

Clippers soccer grounds Jets

Sturgeon Bay was able to hold off a Roncalli/Two Rivers Jets comeback on Tuesday with a 3-2 win. In the games 22nd minute, Landon Hintz netted the first goal with an assist from Porter Gigstead. At the 38 minute mark, Ben Luders extended the Clippers lead to 2-0, which would be the halftime score. 

 

Roncalli/Two Rivers showed up early in the second half, as Matthew Bonin got a goal twenty seconds into it. Bonin got his second goal in the 58th minute and tied the game up. Ben Luders hitting the lower right corner of the net on a penalty kick at the 75th minute was the difference-maker. 

 

The Clippers are now 8-2-2 this season and will play at Keil on Thursday. Coverage of Thursday’s pregame will begin at 6:00 PM on 96.7 WBDK with the game’s official start time coming at 6:30 PM.  Tuesday's game against the Jets can be listened to on New Radio Sports Network.

Clippers soccer to take on Jets with streaks on the line

Sturgeon Bay boys soccer will go for five straight wins on Tuesday when they take on Roncalli-Two Rivers. The Clippers come into the game with a record of 7-2-2 and will face the Jets who have very similar success this season, posting an 8-1 record so far. The Jets have also won eight straight since their opening loss. The game between the two teams starts at 6:30 PM on Tuesday in Sturgeon Bay. 

 

Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call on 96.7 WBDK beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the pregame show.

Clippers golf visits Wander Springs Golf Course

The Sturgeon Bay golf team heads to Wander Spring Golf Course Tuesday morning for another of its Bay Conference meets.

 

Hosted by Xavier, Bonduel, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Oconto, Seymour, Shawano Community, and West De Pere will also be competing when the first tee time of 10 a.m. hits. 

 

 

Clippers volleyball taking on Green Bay East

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers volleyball team will visit Green Bay East on Tuesday, and get their first non-tournament match win this season. The Clippers are 1-5 overall this season, with their lone win coming in tournament play over Green Bay-NEW Lutheran. They’ll try to bury their early season struggles as Green Bay East has a 1-6 record so far this season. Tuesday’s match will begin at 7:00 PM. 

Clippers earn blowout win in a quickly scheduled game

Though Sturgeon Bay and Bowler/Gresham didn’t spend too long preparing for each other specifically, they were still able to fully participate on Friday. Sturgeon Bay picked up a 48-12 victory, and it was their second straight. The win also put the Clippers at the .500 mark this season, as their overall record is now 2-2. Sturgeon Bay’s next game will be a 7:00 PM home game on Friday, September 24th when they play a 3-1 Thorp squad, who is coming off of a 46-30 win against Flambeau. 

Johnson, Kurek lead Clippers cross country at Valders

The Sturgeon Bay cross country teams faced stiff competition from some of the state's best during Thursday's invite at Valders.

 

Julia Kurek was the only top 25 finisher among the two squads, pacing the girls with a 22:54 and a 17th place finish. The girls as a team finished in seventh place with 225 points.

 

Jace Johnson led the boys to an 11th place finish, scoring 259 points. He ran a 20:12 5K time, which was good for 35th place.

Clippers soccer blanks Peshtigo

In a battle between two teams with strong records so far this season, it was Sturgeon Bay boys soccer who came out on top in a 3-0 victory over Peshtigo. 

 

The Clippers defended their home turf, moving their home record to 4-1-1 this season, and their overall record to 7-2-2. The Clippers will get a few days off from games before hitting the pitch on Tuesday when they take on Roncalli-Two Rivers at home.

Sturgeon Bay football to play Bowler/Gresham in late add

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers football team went from a bye week to having a game in less than 24 hours it seems.

 

Head football coach Jim Adams announced early Friday morning that the Clippers would indeed be playing a home game against Bowler/Gresham at 5 p.m.

 

The Clippers broke their two-game losing streak in rousing fashion last week when they beat Williams Bay 62-6 on the road. The Tigers was scheduled to play Marion/Tigerton Friday night, but that game has apparently been canceled.  They enter the game 0-3 on the season, getting outscored in those contests 168-24. 

 

The kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Clippers soccer looking to extend winning streak

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys soccer team heads to Peshtigo for an opportunity to get to their fourth straight victory. The Clippers come into the game with a 6-2-2 record and coming off of a 9-0 victory over New Holstein/EL-G in which Ben Luders tied the single game goals record for Sturgeon Bay with five. Their opponent, Peshtigo, is trying to regain its early season momentum when they started 4-0. Since then, they’ve gone 2-2, still boasting a 6-2 record, with victories over other area squads Luxemburg-Casco and Kewaunee. Thursday’s game will begin at 4:30 PM. 

Sturgeon Bay Soccer handles Huskies, Luders ties scoring record

The Sturgeon Bay Boys Soccer team looked sharp last night with crisp passing and strong defense against the New Holstein/Elkhart Lake Huskies Tuesday night with a 9-0 win at Clark Field. Leading the way in scoring was Senior Ben Luders with a record matching five goals. Junior Robert Alas added a hat trick and Jules Reynold rounded out the scoring with the ninth goal of the game coming on a penalty kick. The Clippers head to Peshtigo Thursday and the next Broadcast of Sturgeon Bay Soccer can be heard on 96.7 WBDK and the NEW Radio Sports Network next Tuesday when the Clippers take on Roncalli/Two Rivers at home. 

Clippers soccer going for three straight against New Holstein/EL-G

The Sturgeon Bay boys soccer squad will try for their third straight win on Tuesday when they host New Holstein/Elkhart Lake-Glenbeaulah. Sturgeon Bay comes into the contest with a 5-2-2 record. Their opponent, New Holstein/EL-G, is still in pursuit of their first win this season. The two teams did not play their scheduled matchup last year. First touch for Tuesday’s game is at 6:30 PM. 

 

Clippers volleybal swept by Peshtigo

The Sturgeon Bay volleyball team could not crack the 20 point barrier in its three-set loss to Peshtigo Thursday.

 

The Clippers fell 17-25, 18-25, and 17-25. They were led by Emma Reichel (15 digs),  Cate Anderson (10 kills),  Emily Ulberg (8 kills), and Hannah Sternard (26 assists).

Clippers football hosts Williams Bay

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will continue their 8-man football slate Friday night when they host Williams Bay.

 

The Clippers have struggled offensively so far this season, getting outscored 82-12 in its two games thus far. Richard Carlson scored the only touchdown for the Clippers in last week's 42-6 loss to St. Mary Catholic.

 

Williams Bay is in similar straits, averaging less than 10 points a game while giving up nearly 50.

 

The game has been moved up to a 6 p.m. start.

 

Clippers soccer starts slow but handles the Wolves

Led by Junior midfielder Porter Gigstead's hat-trick, the Sturgeon Bay soccer team was able to beat the Algoma Wolves 5-0 Thursday on 96.7 WBDK. Gigstead had the first three goals of the match (33', 36', 60') and he also broke the defensive stance the Wolves put on for the first 33 minutes of the match. Robert Alas put the 4th goal in only seconds after the third goal of the game in the 60th minute of play putting the Clipper up 4-0 and Ben Luders wrapped up the afternoon's scoring with exactly three minutes to go in the contest. 

The Clippers host Fox Valley Luthern Saturday and the next broadcast will be Tuesday when the Clippers are at home again. Broadcast begins at 6p.m. with kickoff at 6:30 and all the action on 96.7 WBDK. 

Sturgeon Bay volleyball looks for bounceback against Peshtigo

The Sturgeon Bay volleyball team hopes to rebound from its earlier loss this week when it hosts Peshtigo.

 

The Clippers lost in straight sets on Tuesday to Shawano. Hannah Sternard had 23 assists, 4 kills, 8 digs, and 1 ace and Cate Anderson added 12 kills in the loss.

 

The Bulldogs defeated Algoma in four sets earlier this week, sealing the victory with two straight set wins including 25-12 in the final stanza.

 

The first serve is set for 7 p.m.

DC United Swimming hosts Shawano

The Door County United swim team will keep things local for their next meet.

 

The co-op team will face Shawano at the Sturgeon Bay YMCA beginning at 6 p.m. The team has not competed since they dominated their own relays meet on August 26th. 

 

The team scored a total of 96 points with the second-place team, New London, only scoring 60 points. The team was a top-three finisher in 10 out of the 11 events, including 5 first-place finishes. The events with the first-place finishes included the 400 Yard Medley Relay (Phoebe Bisssen (SBHS), Sonya Wienke (SBHS), Molly Hall (SDHS), and Julia Michalski (SBHS)), 300 Yard Breast Relay (Paula Weinke (SBHS), Julia Kurek (SBHS), and Christy Braun (SBHS)), 200 Yard Fly Relay (Caitlyn Hasenjager (SEV), Phoebe Bissen (SBHS), Isabell Jimenez-Seyfer (SBHS)), 750 Yard Free Relay (Cassie Rankin (SEV), Julia Kurek (SBHS), Gaby Moreno (SEV), Caitlyn Hasenjager (SEV)), and the 200 Yard Medley Reverse Relay (Julia Michalski (SBHS), Shambo Wienkie (SBHS), Sonya Wienke (SBHS), and Anika Steinbach (SBHS)).

Sturgeon Bay golf tees off against Xavier

The Sturgeon Bay girls' golf team heads to the Appleton area on Thursday for a golf meet against some of their conference foes.

 

Other teams competing in the meet include Bonduel, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Oconto, Seymour, Shawano Community, and West De Pere. No results were reported from the Clippers' last meet against many of the same teams at Seymour.

 

Tee time is set for 3 p.m.

 

Clippers soccer sails to Algoma on 96.7 WBDK

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers look for their first win in a week when they visit Algoma for an EWC/Packerland matchup along the lakeshore.

 

The Clippers are looking for their first win since beating another conference rival in Gibraltar/Sevastopol. They have since gone 0-1-2, including the pick-up of a 2-2 tie against Notre Dame earlier this week. 

 

The Wolves are winless in their only two matches of the season. They started out with a 7-0 loss to Kiel before falling to Luxemburg-Casco its last time out 5-2.

 

Bryan Mazur will anchor the coverage from Algoma on 96.7 WBDK beginning at 4:00 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first touch at 4:30 p.m.

Clippers volleyball unable to get past Shawano

Two of the three sets in Sturgeon Bay’s loss to Shawano on Tuesday were decided by three or fewer points. In the first set, Sturgeon Bay lost 25-22 and in the second set, Shawano won 25-19. The match was decided in set three as Sturgeon Bay lost by just two points, 25-23. In the match, Sturgeon Bay’s Cate Anderson had 12 kills and Hannah Sternard had 23 assists. Emma Reichel also collected 20 digs. 

 

Sturgeon Bay will play Peshtigo on Thursday at home with first serve coming at 7:00 PM. The Clippers will be going for their first win of the season.

Clippers cross country teams finish top 3 at Algoma

There were plenty of medals to go around for the Sturgeon Bay cross country team at Tuesday's cross country meet hosted by Algoma.

 

The boys finished in third place behind Oconto and NEWCHAA in the six-team field. Sevastopol and Algoma did not field boys' teams. Tristen Brilla led the way with a time 22:06 on the 5K course, which was good for 5th overall.

 

The girls took second behind Sevastopol out of the six scoring teams with 39 points. Julia Kurek finished in second between a pair of Sevastopol runners with a time of 24:30 on the 5K course.

Clippers and Tritons exciting come from behind finish

With less than two minutes to go, Clippers Porter Gigstead's hustle on the touchline lead to the game tying goal. The Midfielder for Sturgeon Bay was able to cross the ball back into the middle of the Tritons' box and Forward Robert Alas headed the ball into the back of the net with exactly 90 second left on the clock. This tied the game at 2-2 and that's where the game would end when the full 80 minute ticked away. In the first half, Spencer Hubbard scored the game's first goal in the 35th minute of play and that gave the Clippers the lead heading into the half. The Tritons came out strong in the second half of play scoring two straight goals (Geocaris 52', Lawton 58'). Joe Wind had an outstanding game with over 12 saves. 

The Clippers will head to Algoma on Thursday to battle the Wolves and that game can be heard on 96.7 WBDK and the NEW Radio Sports Network. 

Clippers look to avenge spring loss on 96.7 WBDK

The Sturgeon Bay soccer team looks to bounce back at home Tuesday night when it hosts Green Bay Notre Dame.

 

The Clippers went 0-1-1 during its visit to The Prairie School with only one goal scored in the pair of matchups with teams from Racine and Kenosha. It was the end of a busy first week of the season that saw the Clippers play five times in seven days.  They went 2-2-1 in that span, picking up wins against Green Bay East and Gibraltar/Sevastopol. 

 

The Tritons saw their four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday, losing 2-1 to Verona. It was the Tritons who eliminated the Clippers from the postseason this spring en route to a state runner-up finish in the alternative fall tournament.

 

Bryan Mazur and Peter Kerwin will have the call from Clark Field on 96.7 WBDK. Pregame will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by the opening touch at 7 p.m.

 

Sturgeon Bay volleyball looking to get into win column

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will try to get the blank spot off of their 0-2 record when they take on Shawano on Tuesday. Sturgeon Bay’s two losses are to Sevastopol and Freedom. Their Tuesday opponent, Shawano, is 4-3 on the season after their recent win against Bonduel. Other than that win, they went 3-2 in the Adams-Friendship Invite. The Clippers will host the game on Tuesday with first serve at 7:00 PM. 

Clippers cross country sets sail for Algoma

The Sturgeon Bay cross country team will head to Algoma Tuesday for its second invitational of the year.

 

In addition to the host Wolves, the Clippers will take on Crivitz, Denmark, Lena, Mishicot, N.E.W. Lutheran - Green Bay, NEWCHAA  (Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletic Associaton), Oconto, Providence Academy (Green Bay), Southern Door, Sevastopol, Wausaukee, and Wolf River Lutheran.

 

The teams have not competed since last month's Chief K Invitational.

 

The first race is set for 4:30 p.m.

Clippers winless in The Prairie

This weekend's matchups at The Prairie School proved to be just as tough as facing the host school for the Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team.

 

The Clippers ended up with a tie against Racine Horlick 0-0 and a loss to Kenosha Tremper 2-1.

 

The team will have another tough opponent when it returns to action on Tuesday. It will host Notre Dame at Clark Field with the first touch scheduled for 7 p.m.

Slow day for Clippers against St. Mary Catholic

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers football team is still in pursuit of their first win after a 40-6 loss to St. Mary Catholic-Valley Christian on Friday night. Sturgeon Bay has suffered similar defeats two weeks in a row, having lost 42-6 in the opener as well. Sturgeon Bay will try to reverse course on Friday, September 10th against Williams Bay at home. The home draw marks the first of three straight home matchups for the Clippers. Williams Bay comes into the game with an 0-2 record and a 42-6 loss in their Friday matchup with Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah.

Clippers volleyball comes up short against Sevastopol

Sturgeon Bay had a hard-fought battle against the Sevastopol Pioneers but came out on the losing end in four sets. The Clippers lost the first two sets 25-16 and 25-18, but rallied in the third set to win 25-23. The Pioneers picked their game back up again and won set four 25-14. For the Clippers, Cate Anderson led with 7 kills and also had 8 assists. Emily Ulberg had 5 kills along with 2 aces. Milan Eliyha had 16 assists and Emma Reichel posted 20 digs. The Clippers play Shawano on Tuesday. 

Sturgeon Bay cross country runs at Preble Invite

Sturgeon Bay will meet some top-flight teams Thursday afternoon at Josten Park when they race at an invitational hosted by Green Bay Preble. 

 

Green Bay East, Green Bay Southwest, Manitowoc Lutheran, Omro, Sheboygan Falls
Sheboygan North, Sturgeon Bay, Notre Dame De La Baie Academy, Manitowoc Lincoln,  and New Christian Home School are all scheduled to compete in the invite that is slated to start at 3:30 p.m.

 

The Clippers girls led by Julia Kurek finished in fifth last week's Chief K Invitational at Gibraltar while Tre Wienke led the boys to a ninth-place finish.

Luders clutch in Clippers win

Sturgeon Bay boys soccer pitched a shutout on Tuesday and earned a 1-0 win over the Green Bay East Red Devils. The game was scoreless until Ben Luders threaded the needle between two defenders for a goal to go up 1-0 with about six minutes remaining. With the win, Sturgeon Bay is now 2-1 and hosts Gibraltar/Sevastopol on Thursday. First touch is at 6:30 PM.
