DCU has not been in the pool since its 133-24 win against Marinette High School last Thursday. In that meet, Julia Michalski (SBHS) had yet another great night. She finished first in both of her individual events and assisted in two first place finishes for the relays she was a part of. Quinn Sperber (SDHS) competed in the 500 freestyle for the first time in her high school career finishing second overall.

Storm Sink Clippers on U102.1

The Storm traveled to Sturgeon Bay Friday night and came away with a 42-0 victory, jumping ahead of the Clippers and into second place in the Packerland conference standings.

Kewaunee came into the game knowing they needed to replace a key contributor after losing Jackson Wisnicky to an ACL injury last week.  That mission was accomplished as they received the opening kickoff and marched down the field, finding the endzone via a 16-yard Waylon Delain touchdown.  Delain scored five rushing touchdowns on the night (16, 30, 1, 8, 24) and tacked on 2-point conversion runs.  The only other player to score for Kewaunee was their QB Brett Paulsen, who ran one in from 15 yards out.

The Clippers also needed to find a way to replace a missing key player.  Patrick Haese was ejected after being flagged for a targeting block, which was trying to block for Caleb Plzak after a first-quarter interception.  The offense would turn to Caleb and Bryce Plzak but would be unable to find the endzone after many drives were hurt via penalties.

The Storm travels to Southern Door on Thursday night to take on the Eagles. The game will be broadcast on 104.1 and NEW Radio Sports Network.

The Clippers will host the Mishicot Indians for their Homecoming game on Friday night. The game will be broadcast on U102.1 and NEW Radio Sports Network.

Storm Travel to Clippers Friday Night on U102.1

Each team comes into Friday night's matchup with 3-2 overall records and are hoping to keep pace with conference leading Bonduel.  The Clippers come into the game 3-0 in the conference after starting the season 0-2 in their non-conference schedule.  Kewaunee's conference record is 2-1, the one loss being to Bonduel.

Sturgeon Bay is coming off a 42-16 road win over Oconto.  Patrick Haese led the way for the Clipper's offense, rushing for 156 yards and 2 scores.  Caleb Plzak ran for 41-yards and two scores of his own, while only needed to complete 2 passes the entire game.  One of those passes found Bryce in the endzone for a 37-yard touchdown.

Kewaunee also is entering the game off a big win, handling Mishicot 35-14 at home for homecoming.  Jackson Wisnicky and Tyler VanGoethem each ran for two scores, one of which came on a 46-yard run on the opening drive by Wisnicky. However, Wisnicky would leave the game early in the fourth with an injury, and did not return to the game. Quarterback Brett Paulsen would also rush for a 1-yard score in the second half.

You can catch Friday night's game on U102.1 or streaming worldwide on NEW Radio Sports Network.  Join Jacob Nate for the pregame show at 6:45 p.m., with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.

JV Clippers shine against Bulldogs on U-102.1

It was an opportunity for the JV team to shine on U-102.1 Thursday night after Peshtigo couldn’t field a full team and had to forfeit the varsity match but still wanted an exhibition contest at Clark Field. Cedar Tomberlin put the JV Clipper up 1-0 in the first half. It wasn’t until a penalty kick was awarded to Peshtigo in the second half that the score would change, and Polzin tied the score. In the 78th minute, Levi Ullman scored off a corner, making the final score 2-1 and lifting the Clippers JV squad over Peshtigo. The varsity team will be back in action when they travel to Fish Creek on Monday, September 30th, and that game will be on U-102.1. The last meeting between the Clippers and United ended with Sturgeon Bay winning 7-1. This match has more at stake as it carries implications for the conference championship.

Sturgeon Bay Runs to a victory behind Haese on U-102.1

It was senior Patrick Haese and his three rushing touchdowns that led the Sturgeon Bay Clippers to a 20-0 win at home over the Marinette Marines.

Haese had over 100 yards on the ground, and the Clippers had almost 200 yards rushing on a fall-like Friday evening as the Marinette Marines gave them all they could handle. Nell for the Clippers turned the tide with an interception in the second quarter that turned into the first score of the game by Haese only minutes later. The Clippers' second interception came late in the fourth quarter, and that would end any chance Marinette had of making a comeback.

The Clippers will return to action next Friday night at Peshtigo. U-102.1 will follow the Marines back to their home field in Marinette where Southern Door will travel to next Friday.

Clippers cruise past United on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers soccer team took a 3-0 lead into the break and never looked back in a 7-1 victory over county rival Gibraltar/Sevastopol Thursday night.

Cedar Tomberlin completed the brace for the Clippers while Finn Stevenson, Kayden Klotz, Jackson Starr, Jaylen Reynolds, and Ozzy Langfeldt also registered goals. Sean Neal's free kick in the second half was the only goal scored by the United..

Sturgeon Bay looks to secure first win on the gridiron on U-102.1

The Sturgeon Bay football team hopes the third time is the charm Friday night when they enter Packerland Conference play against Marinette.

The Clippers have dropped their first two games of the season with losses against Waupun on the road and Antigo at home. In last week's 27-20 defeat to the Red Robins, the two teams traded shots in the second half with Antigo making a final stand to take the single-score victory. Caleb Plzak threw for 176 yards and a score while Bryce Plzak racked up nearly 160 yards on 16 touches, including 10 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.

The Marines have split their first two games of the season, falling hard to their cross-state lines rivalry with Menominee (MI) 49-6 its last time out. They were on the opposite side of a lopsided score in Week 1 as they beat Clintonville 46-6 without completing a single pass. They instead rushed for 498 yards, including 263 yards and four touchdowns from quarterback Chase MacGregor.

Bryan Mazur will have the call on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening kick at 7 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay girls' golf team will not hit the links on Monday as originally planned.

The next Bay Conference meet featuring the Clippers, Bonduel, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Oconto, Shawano Community, West De Pere, Winneconne, and Xavier at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Seymour had been scheduled for Monday, but it will instead tee off a week now on September 10th at 10 a.m.
