Sturgeon Bay High School Archives for 2022-07

Sturgeon Bay AD talks fall future

Sturgeon Bay Football is proud to be back in the Packerland Conference and back playing 11-Player football. Athletic Director Todd Meikle says there are much more great stories coming from Sturgeon Bay than most people would think. The boys’ soccer team will always be known for its ability to make deep trips through the postseason and even reach the WIAA State Tournament, but there are opportunities that the high school has to offer that the students are taking full advantage of.

Meikle does not stop short of praising the amazing coaches that Sturgeon Bay has on their staff, whether it be soccer or cheer team, he knows that the players and students are in great hands. He understands that sports and opportunity can bring a resounding impact to not only the students at Sturgeon Bay High, but the community as well.

What does an Athletic Director end up doing during the summer if there are no classes in session or no sports even being played? Meikle delivered with some projects that him and his staff have been working on going into this 2022-2023 school year.

The past few seasons, Sturgeon Bay Clippers Football has been playing 8-Player football due to numbers. This year, Meikle is proud to say that his Clippers are back in the Packerland Conference and he says that the goal is always to be there for good.

Under new leadership the Clippers are looking to utilize those large numbers on the football team and win games this season. Meikle believes his Clippers will excel in the fall sports season.
