Lady Clippers basketball host NEW Lutheran

The Sturgeon Bay girls' basketball team enters Packerland Conference play Tuesday night when they face NEW Lutheran.

 

The Lady Clippers dropped their first game of the season to Denmark 74-21. Three players scored five points to lead the way. The Blazers' Gabi Hillmann and Leah Schmidt each scored 14 points in their 54-36 win over Crivitz their last time out.

 

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.

Lady Clippers shutdown by Vikings

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team were limited to nine first-half points in its 74-21 loss to Denmark. The Vikings had 11 different players register points, including three that reached double figures. Olivia Lamack led all players with 13 points. 

 

 

Lady Clippers basketball opens against Denmark

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team will look for its first win since February 8th, 2020 when it travels to Denmark Thursday evening for its season opener.

 

The Clippers went winless last season and lost its only honorable mention All-Packerland Conference player last year due to graduation. They lost to Southern Door in the regional opener last season. The Vikings finished last season 3-15 in the North Eastern Conference, ending their year on a four game losing streak.

 

Tip time is set for 7 p.m.

Braun to compete at swimming state championships

Door County United's Christy Braun hopes to end her season on a high note on Saturday when she competes in the WIAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Waukesha South Natatorium.

 

Competing in Division 1 with a time of 2:11.63, Braun will start her day in the second lane in the first heat of the 200-yard individual medley.

 

Timed swimming events begin at 3:30 p.m.

Braun prepares for state swimming meet

One local athlete stands alone in the 2021 fall season as Christy Braun prepares for this week's girls swimming state meet.

 

The junior is seeded second in the first heat of the 200-yard individual medley. Her time of 2:11.63 is the fifth-fastest in the heat.  Braun earned first-team all-conference in all events she participated in at last month's Bay Conference Championships. She also had the honor of receiving the Bay Conference Swimmer of the Year award which honors the most valuable and well-rounded swimmer in the Bay Conference.
