The Sturgeon Bay Clippers could not contain the high-powered offense of the Sevastopol Pioneers, losing 73-26 on 103.3 The Clipper. 

Sevastopol started fast, and did not let their foot off the pedal throughout the first half. Sam Herrel was the kickstarter to the Sevastopol offense early as she dropped a couple threes. Autumn Rass tried to keep up pace with the Pioneers, but could not as the Clippers quickly fell into a hole. 

The Pioneers would go into the half leading 44-16 led by Bailey and Naomi Rikkola, who were both over double digits in the first eighteen minutes. 

It was more of the same after the half, with 8 players getting into the books by scoring, with four of them scoring 10 points or more. Bailey Rikkola would end the game with a team-high 19 points for the Pioneers, followed by sister Naomi with 12. 

Autumn Rass led the way for Sturgeon Bay on the night with 10 points, with the next highest scorers being Emma Reinhardt and Madelyn Wind with four points each. 

Sturgeon Bay will next be on the floor Thursday against NEW Lutheran, with Sevastopol playing friday against Algoma. 

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers had a conference road battle with the Oconto Blue Devils on Monday January 30th.

The game started with Oconto on an early run to go up 16-3 but that was short lived before Sturgeon Bay went on their own run to bring the game within 6 late in the first half. After a few back and forth baskets, Oconto was up 30-28 at the end of the half.

To start the 2nd half, the Blue Devils went on a quick 8-0 run to go up 10 before the Clippers were able to put together a few stops and bring the game back to within 7. Oconto went on another run later in the half to go up by 17 but Sturgeon Bay had some more fight in them and clawed back to within 6 with about 4 minutes in the game.

The Blue Devils were able to finish on a high note and ended the game with a 10 point lead, 72-62, to beat the Clippers. Sturgeon Bay is back in action at home on Friday, February 3rd against Peshtigo.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers were outpaced in the second half by Southern Door as they fell 70-44 on Tuesday night. 

Sturgeon Bay was right with the Eagles throughout the beginning of the first half, even holding multiple two points leads. Autumn Rass and Regan Kasten were the ones keeping the Clippers in it, as they tried to match every bucket scored by the Eagles. The duo of Allianna Dufek and Ashlyn Delfosse was two much as the time winded down in the first half. 

The Eagles would lead 33-23 at the half led by 12 from Ashlyn Delfosse. 

The second half is where the Clippers would begin to lose their grip on the game, as Isabella Price began to take over, as well as some strong defense from Callie Miller. A ten point lead would balloon out to a 20 point lead halfway through the second half, and Allianna Dufek shut the door with 10 more points in the second half for a team high 18. 

Cady Carlson provided a nice spark for Sturgeon Bay in the second half hitting 3 of her game high four threes in the second half en route to leading the Clippers in scoring.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team looks to bounce back from their last loss to Algoma with a road game at Oconto on Monday.

After the Clippers jumped in front early, Algoma bounced back and took a 28-20 lead into the halftime locker room. Algoma was able to extend their lead to 11 early in the second half, and while Sturgeon Bay rallied to within 4, Algoma was able to finish the game out and pick up the 53-45 victory.

The Blue Devils received 21 points from Kadin Baxter and Trenton Hartman from 19 points, but had no answers defensively for Drew Daoust in a 86-73 loss to Southern Door in their last game. They had no answer for Calvin Richard in the last matchup between these two teams as he nailed eight three-pointers in a 74-70 victory for the Clippers in December.

Tip-off in Oconto will take place at 7:30 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door girls basketball teams will square off on Monday night in a battle in Packerland Conference play. 

The Clippers are coming off of a Friday night loss in Peshtigo 62-36. That loss dropped Sturgeon Bay to 2-15 overall and 0-10 in the Packerland conference, with a matchup with their rivals on the horizon. In their last matchup against Southern Door, the Clippers fell by a score of 76-37. Regan Kasten led the way for Sturgeon Bay in that matchup, scoring a team-high 10 points. 

Southern Door fell to the best team in the Packerland conference Friday night as they could not keep up with the Sevastopol Pioneers losing 55-23. Allianna Dufek did most of the heavy lifting for their struggling offense against the pressure-packed defense of the Pioneers. Going into the matchup 9-9 overall and 4-6 in the Packerland, the Eagles will look for more scoring from their leaders in the last matchup between these teams, in Callie Miller and Ashlyn Delfosse.

Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay will stick around town for the Door County Classic with Menominee Indian, Bay Port, Crivitz, Denmark, Freedom, Gillett/Suring, Iron Mountain, Lena, Little Chute, Marinette, Oconto, Oshkosh North, Oshkosh West, Palmyra-Eagle, Suring, Two Rivers, Valders, Wittenberg-Birnamwood, and Wrightstown. Wrestling begins at 8 a.m.

At 9:30 a.m., Kewaunee will kick off the Deerfield Wrestling Tournament, with Poynette, Brodhead, DeSoto, Jefferson, Kenosha Christian Life, Lake Mills, Madison La Follette, Martin Luther, Menasha, Milwaukee Bradley Technical, Monona Grove, Mount Horeb, Parkview, Random Lake, Stoughton, Sun Prairie East. Waterloo and Waukesha South.

Luxemburg-Casco will head to Pulaski for their tournament with some familiar foes. The Spartans will face the likes of Pulaski, Antigo, Bay Port, Coleman Cougars, Denmark, Elkhorn, Freedom, Hortonville, Kaukauna, New London, Oconto Falls, Peshtigo, Port Washington, Pulaski, Seymour, and West De Pere. Wrestling begins at 10 a.m.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will take on a top Packerland power as Peshtigo plays host to the Clippers on Friday night. 

Sturgeon Bay is still in search of that illustrious first Packerland Conference win so far this season, and they have been led by Autumn Rass. Rass has been floating around the top of the leaderboard in the Packerland for points per game, as she currently sits third. Sturgeon Bay enters the matchup Friday with a 2-14 overall record and 0-9 in conference. 

Peshtigo went on the road and narrowly took care of the Southern Door Eagles 40-39. Many players for Peshtigo have strongly made their presence felt in the scoring column, but Brooklyn Phillips and Akira Smalls are the two Bulldogs leading the way with 9 and 13.2 points per game respectively. The team sits two games back of the Sevastopol Pioneers, and are tied with the Oconto Blue Devils in the Packerland standings.

The Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestling team held their own against three tough Packerland opponents Thursday night in their home gym.

They led off the night with a 42-27 victory against Kewaunee, where the team mostly traded forfeits along with wins by Zak Wrobel and Gabe Kuehn. 

The forfeits would loom large in their losses against Peshtigo and Oconto where there just was not enough points available to take down the Bulldogs or the Blue Devils.

When you wake up in Washburn, Wisconsin, and Conway Twitty is playing on the radio, that's your first indication that it's going to be a great day of skiing and snowboarding.  This past Tuesday, the Clipper Ski and Snowboard Team rode that wave of Classic Country excitement to a fantastic showing at their second Northern Conference event of the season at Mt. Ashwabay in Bayfield County.  

Junior Tristan Brilla returned to his first action of the season this year, finishing second amongst all snowboarders and picking up where he left off last year as a State qualifier.  Brilla competed in the Boardercross, Slalom, and Giant Slalom and posted solid second-place times in all three events.  

In the skiing events, Junior Captain Tori Alger once again led the Lady Clippers, this time to a 4th place team finish ahead of their Northern Conference rivals, the Rhinelander Lady Hodags.  Alger placed 14th overall in the meet, and every girl on the team improved from the first meet at Snowriver.  Freshmen Jordis Brilla and June VanLieshout improved their times by 21% and 17%, respectively.  Junior Julia Gregory and Senior Lilly Cihlar also posted improved times, and Junior Maddie Propsom competed well in her first racing event of the season.  

Junior Ben Stephens posted the best Clipper times on the boys' side in his first racing action of the season, finishing 21st overall in the meet.  Junior Captain Xavier Jandrin and Freshman Levi Ullman also posted improved times over their first meet two weeks ago, but the highlight of the meet for the Clipper boys was hearing the PA announcer pronounce Jandrin's name as "HA-vee-air Jzahn-DREEN," which definitely sounds like an Argentine downhiller.  We will all tell our grandkids someday that we skied with the great HA-vee-air Jzahn-DREEN.

The Clippers compete closer to home next week in the third conference event, which will be held at Granite Peak in Wausau on Thursday, February 2nd.

The Packerland Conference crown for wrestling is on the line Thursday night as Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol hosts county rival Southern Door, Peshtigo, Kewaunee, and Oconto for a quadrangular meet.

The original edition of this multi-team dual was supposed to take place last week at Southern Door sans Kewaunee before Mother Nature canceled those plans. Heading into Thursday's action, Oconto and Southern Door have each already beaten Kewaunee this season, while Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol and Peshtigo have yet to wrestle in a conference dual.

In the week since, Kewaunee's 195 pound wrestler Mitchell Thompson won the Herb Tyler Invite in Sheboygan. Thompson pinned his way to the finals before beating Two Rivers' Chase Matthias with a decision. Four other Storm wrestlers placed in the Top Seven. Four Southern Door Eagles wrestlers reached the podium at Saturday's Herb Tyler Invitational. It was pin or be pinned for 113-pound Lukas Kallin, who went 2-1 on the day to take third as the top finishing Eagle on the day. Hayden Jeanquart took fourth at 160 pounds to continue his strong season. The Clippineers last competed two weekends ago as they took 11th out of the 18 teams at the Cutler Classic despite battling low numbers, injuries, and sickness. All of its wrestlers placed, but Spencer Madsen was the top finisher for the team as he hit the podium in third place at 126 pounds at the Cutler Classic. 

Tim Kowols and Lucas Stephenson will have the call on U 102.1 beginning at 4:30 p.m. with the pre-dual show before wrestling begins at 5 p.m. You will find the schedule of those matches below.

The Sturgeon Bay girls' basketball team could not keep pace with Oconto on Monday night, losing 88-31.

The Clippers defense had no answers for the Blue Devils' offense, which scored over 40 points in each half. Four players reached double figures for the Blue Devils, including Addisyn Viestenz scoring a team-high 20 points and Rylie Shallow adding 18 points.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team will look to avoid a three game skid as they host Green Bay NEW Lutheran to begin their second round of Packerland play. 

Gibraltar and Kewaunee have gotten the best of the Clippers in the past two matchups, as they lost by an average of 17 between the two teams. In the earlier matchup between these two teams, the Blazers took the victory on their home court, winning 80-63. Garrett Ulberg was the leader in that matchup for Sturgeon Bay, scoring 23 points. 

For the Blazers, they recently fell to the Southern Door Eagles 75-72, being led by Meerstein and Lynch. NEW Lutheran is sitting at 10-4 overall and 5-3 in the Packerland conference. That record is good for fourth in the conference, and could put the Blazers in a solid spot when it comes playoff time.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team start their week off with a tough matchup against the Oconto Blue Devils.

The Clippers lost 60-56 to Gillett. They were led in scoring by sophomore Cady Carlson with 18 points, Senior Mackenzie Burlo and Autumn Rass each added 13 points.

The Blue Devils are tied for second place in the Packerland Conference with Peshtigo with 6-2 mark (11-5 overall). Three players scored at least 14 points in their 59-51 victory over Valders last Tuesday.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay Varsity Girls Basketball team lost 56-60 vs Gillett.

The Clippers were led in scoring by sophomore Cady Carlson with 18 points, Senior Mackenzie Burlo and Autumn Rass each added 13 points. 

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will look to bounce back from their loss to the Gibraltar Vikings on Tuesday as they take on the Kewaunee Storm Friday night. 

After that nine point loss on the road up in Gibraltar, the Clippers find themselves 5-8 overall and 3-4 in the Packerland conference. Isaak Aune has done a lot so far this season for Sturgeon Bay, as he tried to keep the Clippers in it Tuesday with 22 points. Aune averages 17 points per game this season, and only trails Calvin Richard in three point percentage, because Aune (39-105) has attempted one more three than Richard (39-104) 

For Kewaunee they will be looking to avenge the loss to Southern Door Tuesday night. Thomas Stangel showed his scoring ability Tuesday night against the Eagles as he poured on 30 points in the loss. The Storm pulled the deficit close multiple times, but turnovers would end that chance and let the Eagles pull away. Kewaunee is usually relatively strong after losses, so look for this matchup to be a good one.

Pending the Winter Storm brewing in Northeast Wisconsin, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers will travel to Green Bay to try to get their first Packerland win of the Girls Basketball season as they take on the NEW Lutheran Blazers. 

Sturgeon Bay will enter the game with a four game losing streak after winning a non-conference matchup against the Green Bay East Red Devils. Dasha Yeltysheva has begun to get the scoring going for the Clippers as she chipped in 10 back in the loss to Gibraltar. Autumn Rass continues to be the scoring leader for the Clippers, but Yeltysheva has shown her offensive aggressiveness to be critical in games. 

The Green Bay NEW Lutheran Blazers started out 3-1 in Packerland Conference play early in the season. Since that win over the Kewaunee Storm, they have lost 4 straight and sit in a tie for sixth place in the Packerland at 3-5. Ebony Sinclair is the player to watch for the Blazers. Only a Sophomore, Sinclair has averaged 14.2 points per game halfway through the season.

The Door County Swim Team came in seventh out of eight teams at the Redwing Invite, beating rival Plymouth. There were a lot of solid swims, and some events that raked in big points for us. The boys gave their all today, and I couldn’t have asked for more from them. Our meet this next Thursday against Plymouth looks like it’s going to go down to the last events.

Less than a week after playing the Gibraltar Vikings at home, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls' basketball team will do the same with the Denmark Vikings on Monday.

The Clippers are 2-11 on the season, losing 74-45 to Kewaunee in their last game. Autumn Rass is leading the team in scoring with 14 points per game.

The Vikings are 5-7 on the year, beating Clintonville in their last game 56-45. Abigail Hummel scored 21 points, and Kiarrah Micolichek added 16 points in the Vikings' win. The two players are also the leading scorers on the team.

Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers were able to dominate all facets of the game Thursday night, as they blew out the Algoma Wolves 58-35 on 103.3 The Clipper. 

From the start the Clippers were clicking on all cylinders, hitting shot after shot from outside, and getting second chance points at ease. Isaak Aune and Calvin Richard were the stars of the first half, and they continued it throughout the whole game. 

Aune hit two back to back step back threes to officially sink the Wolves’ chances of mounting a comeback, and sparking a huge run for the Clippers to get out to a 21 point lead. Solid defense throughout the whole game kept that lead in check, as the Clippers used a 1-3-1, 2-1-2 and 2-3 defense at some point in the game to hold the Wolves offense at bay. 

The Player of the Game for Sturgeon Bay was Isaak Aune, who fueled the Clippers to the win. 

The Sturgeon Bay Ski and Snowboard Team attended their first meet of the season at foggy Snowriver in Lakewood, MI on Tuesday. 

The weather was warm and the Clippers were ready to ski.  Team newcomers Lilly Cihlar (Senior), June Vanlieshout (Freshman), Jordis Brilla (Freshman), and Levi Ullman (Freshman) overcame their first meet jitters and skied confidently down the longest courses that the skiers will see this season.  3rd year racer Tori Alger (Junior) posted the best times on the team, roaring down the Super G and cutting up the slalom course like the veteran that she is.  Alger finished 9th overall amongst varsity girls at the meet.  Julia Gregory (Junior) and Xavier Jandrin (Junior) posted solid results on the day, as they look to improve in their second season on the proud Clipper squad.   

They are back in action on Monday at Christie Mountain near Bruce, WI, and have a total of 5 conference meets this season.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team will take to their homecourt again when they take on the Algoma Wolves Thursday night. 

The Clippers will enter the game against Algoma with a 4-7 overall record, as they will be coming off of a loss to the Kohler Blue Bombers 102-78. Isaak Aune did his usual work in the teams win, as he scored 32 in his effort to will the Clippers to a win. Sturgeon Bay will gladly get back into Packerland conference play, as they have gone 2-4 out of the conference, and 2-3 in the Packerland, and will look to get back to .500. 

Algoma is fresh off of a blowout win themselves, as they defeated Gresham Community 88-18. Four Wolves scorers finished in double digits, as they were led by senior forward Kaden Vardon who scored 29 for a season-high. The Wolves have seemed to figure some things out through their past six games. Between two seventy or more point outputs, or keeping games close against top Packerland powerhouses, the Wolves could be ripe for a second half turnaround. 

The game Thursday night will be in remembrance of late Sturgeon Bay Coach Jim Benesh. Coach Benesh will be honored before the game.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers were on the road against Kohler Blue Bombers in a non-conference game Tuesday night.

The Clippers started the game out hot and got out to an early 12-6 lead before the Blue Bombers countered with their own run to then be up at halftime 55-34. In the start of the 2nd half Sturgeon Bay and Kohler went back and forth before Kohler extended their lead. The Clippers made a 10-0 run late in the second half before the Blue Bombers were able to close out the game with a final score of 102-78.

Sturgeon Bay is back in action at home Thursday, January 12, 2023 against the Algoma Wolves. The game will be carried on The Clipper (103.3 and 96.7 WBDK HD-2) beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m. with Gary Barta and Lucas Stephenson on the call. 

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers held an early lead during the first half, but the Gibraltar Vikings rode their defensive success to a 61-49 win on Tuesday night on 103.3 The Clipper. 

Dasha Yeltysheva and Cady Carlson would do most of the early scoring for the Clippers as they jumped out to a quick lead, but that lead was gone with the swarming defense of the Gibraltar Vikings. The Vikings closed passing lanes quickly, and it allowed Andi Schar to start to take off. 

Schar would have 10 of her game-high 17 points as she led the Vikings into the break with a lead, 30-23.

After the break it was more of the same, with Colleen Carlisle and Betsy Lecy joining in on the scoring as well, as the Vikings rode their zone defense through the first half, and effectively put heavy ball pressure in the second en route to their 61-49 win. 

Andie Schar was named Player of the Game, as she scored a game-high 17 points for Gibraltar. 

The Sturgeon Bay boys basketball team will head south on Tuesday to face Kohler.

The Clippers beat Green Bay East 58-44 in their last game on January 3rd. The day before, the Clippers kept things close through the first part of the first half, but a late Bonduel run gave them a 30-12 lead at the half. A late second-half push got the game back within 10, but the Bears were able to hold on for a 63-50 victory.

The Blue Bombers are 10-1 on the season thanks to Trey Keller averaging 23.4 points per game. Zane Willadsen is nearly averaging a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds a game.

Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girl basketball team and Gibraltar Vikings will look to grab their first Packerland win as they face off Tuesday night. 

Sturgeon Bay picked up their 2nd win of the season last Thursday against Green Bay East before losing the second night of their back to back to the Algoma Wolves 55-32. Between those two matchups, Autumn Rass showed her scoring ability, as she combined for 28 points. Cady Carlson has been an overall strong contributor to the Clippers as well with her rebounding ability, as she has grabbed 7 rebounds a game. 

The Gibraltar girls basketball team has begun to find their footing this season, even if the record does not reflect it. A close game against the Southern Door was a key example of that, as the Vikings lost by 10, but hung around the whole game, and even led at certain points in the first half. Forward Colleen Carlisle has scored in double digits in her last three games, benefiting from her ability to get to the free throw line.

Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol's Zak Wrobel came home the big winner from Saturday's Manawa Invitational.

Wrobel won three of his four matches by pin before his day ended when his final opponent had to withdraw due to injury. Spencer Madsen, Ethan Denamur, and Ben Roman took second place as the team took fourth overall.

Wrestlers on the Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestling team could be going to one of two places on Saturday, according to PackerlandConference.org. 

One of those options is the Wisconsin Challenge Series in Neenah. Teams there include Appleton East, Appleton North, Appleton West, Ashwaubenon, Bay Port, Brillion, Chilton, De Pere, Denmark, Fond du Lac, Fox Valley Lutheran, Green Bay Preble, Green Bay West, Kaukauna, Kewaunee, Kiel, Kimberly, Little Chute, Manitowoc Lincoln, Manitowoc Lutheran, Menasha, Mishicot, Neenah, New Holstein, Pulaski, Seymour, Southern Door, Luxemburg-Casco, Two Rivers, Valders, West De Pere, Wrightstown, and Xavier. That is where Southern Door and Luxemburg-Casco are sending their JV wrestlers. Wrestling there would start at 8 a.m.

A second option is the Manawa Invitational. Beginning at 8 a.m., the Clippineers would battle the likes of Suring, Stratford, Elcho, Mishicot, Montello, Waupaca, Oconto, Crivitz, Weyauwega-Fremont, and Gillett/Suring. 

The Clippineers had a great weekend at the On the Water Wrestling Invitational last weekend. Spencer Madsen and Ben Roman both won their final match of the day to take 11th place during the two-day tournament. They finished in front of 18 other teams despite only having four wrestlers.

After a long layoff, the Door County United Swimming Team gets back into the pool for competition. 

The team heads to Cedarburg to face Arrowhead, Berlin, Brown Deer, Franklin, Germantown, Grafton, Menomonee Falls, Nicolet, Shorewood, Verona, West Bend West, and Whitefish Bay. 

In their last meet, notable swims and finishes against Chilton and Two Rivers included:
-1st place finish in the 200 medley relay (Race Kasten, Jack Monfils, Logan Filar, Ezra Linnan) with a time of 1:47.62 (a season-best in the 200 medley relay)
-2nd (Colton Blackley, Linnan, Branden Neubauer, Filar) with a time of 1:39.48 (a season-best in the 200 free relay)

The Sturgeon Bay girls' basketball team withstood a hot-shooting night from Jamaya Mariner to win their second of the season over Green Bay East 59-45.

Mariner led the Red Devils with a game-high 25 points, but the Clippers were up to the challenge. Autumn Rass led the Clippers with 21 points, while Dasha Yeltysheva added 14 points, and two others chipped in with seven points in the victory. 

There is no rest for the Clippers as they will play at Algoma Friday night.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers girls basketball team will return back to action after their Tuesday night loss to Two Rivers when they take on the Green Bay East Red Devils. 

Sturgeon Bay will look to snap a six game losing streak when they take on the Red Devils, one that stretches back before Thanksgiving break when they defeated NEWCHAA 62-55 on November 22nd. Dasha Yeltysheva has done a great job at stepping into a bigger scoring role and has averaged 10.1 points per game and a steal per game. Sturgeon Bay has been strong on the rebounding end, as they average 24.7 per game. 

For Green Bay East, they are currently still looking for their first win overall and currently sit at 0-11. The Red Devils have been outscored by their opponents by an average of 40.7 points per game, which could be good news for the Clippers on Thursday night. Their most recent time on the court was against the Xavier Hawks, losing 77-27.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers dropped a road game to the Two Rivers Purple Raiders 73-48 in basketball action Tuesday night.  

The Clippers were led by Autumn Rass with 16 points, while Dasha Yellysheva and Regan Kasten added 12 more but it was not enough as the Purple Raiders came away with a 25-point win. 

The Sturgeon Bay Lady Clippers restart the season on the road when they play at Two Rivers.

The Clippers lost 37-76 to Southern Door in their last game before winter break. They were led in scoring by Freshman Regan Kasten, with 10 points to go along with double-digit rebounds for the first of many Double-Doubles. Senior Autumn Rass scored 8, sophomore Dasha Yeltysheva and senior Emma Reinhardt also chipped in 6 points.

The Raiders have fared just as well as the Clippers, beginning their season 1-10. They have gone winless since a season-opening win over Gibraltar on November 15th. That includes losses to Reedsville and Manitowoc Lutheran during last week's Reedsville Holiday Classic.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys basketball team will take on the Green Bay East Red Devils after falling to the Bonduel Bears Monday night.

The Clippers fell to 3-5 on the season with the 63-50 loss to the Bears, as Sturgeon Bay fell into a huge deficit towards the beginning of the second half. Quickly fighting back, the Clippers had cut down the lead, but could not overcome Bonduel. Their attention quickly shifts to Green Bay East during the second night of a back to back. The Clippers fell to the Red Devils last season 67-44. 

Green Bay East has struggled out of the gate so far this season, with their overall record sitting at 2-6. With a strong season last year, the Red Devils this season are being led by Tyler Boeder, who is averaging 11.6 points per game. East is fresh off of one of those two wins on the season, as they defeated Two Rivers 42-40.

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers boys' basketball will not wait long to get their 2023 underway when they battle Bonduel Monday evening.

In their last game, the Clippers were defeated by the Southern Door Eagles 70-51 behind a 34-point outburst from Drew Daoust. Calvin Richard and Derick Ayala-Zeno would end with 14 and 10 respectively in the loss.

The Bears have opened up their season with a 4-2 record, beating Marinette 71-50 in their last game. Ryan Westrich led the way with 20 points while Noah Weier added 13 points and Cade Johnson chipped in 12 points in the Bears' victory.

Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. It is the first of two straight nights of games for the Clippers, which is scheduled to play Green Bay East on Tuesday night.
