DCU captures Plymouth Invite title
The Door County United (DCU) girls high school swim team continues their success with their win at the Plymouth High School Invite on Saturday, September 28th. Ten teams competed in the invite, and DCU won it all, scoring 425 points. The second-place team, Oregon High School, scored 380 points. DCU and Oregon fought throughout the entire meet; however, DCU led the meet from event four through event twelve. The 400-yard freestyle relay consisting of Julia Michalski (SBHS), Megan Quaderer (SBHS), Amelia Michalski (SBHS), and Kailyn Neville (SDHS) clinched the win with their first-place finish. Freshman Quinn Sperber (SDHS) had a very successful meet, scoring 13 points in the 100-yard freestyle and 11 points in the 100-yard backstroke. Senior Anika Steinbach (SBHS) scored 4 points in the 200-yard freestyle, 7 points in the 100-yard backstroke, and assisted the 400-yard freestyle B relay in their 7th place finish with a 1:08.55 split. The DCU swim team will compete at home on Thursday, October 3rd, versus Shawano Bonduel Co-Op. Please come help cheer on our senior swimmers for senior night.
