Miller steadies the Storm at Panther Invitational

Kewaunee's Hanna Miller is certainly not running like a freshman as she led her team at Thursday's Panther Invitational hosted by Reedsville.

Miller completed the 5K course in 20:21, which was good for fourth place overall and was one of six new personal records set by Storm girls runners.

1. 4. 9 Hannah Miller 20:21.08PR Kewaunee

The Kewaunee boys took 6th with 163 points and the Southern Door boys took seventh with 170 points at the Panther Invitational. It was the same thing on the girls side, but with Kewaunee scoring 171 points and Southern Door registering 214. Southern Door's Ben Grota and Kewaunee's Hannah Miller led the way for their respective teams.

Kewaunee takes trip to Sturgeon Bay on 103.3 The Clipper

The Kewaunee Storm will look to keep their quest for back to back Packerland conference titles alive as they travel to Memorial Field to take on the Sturgeon Bay Clippers.

Kewaunee (6-0 Overall, 4-0 Packerland), has been rolling since the beginning of the season, and it has not slowed down through the conference season so far. The Storm are outscoring their Packerland conference opponents by a total of 194-34. Owen Carlson has been a bright spot of the Storm so far this season, having an explosive last two games, with two big plays in the Special Teams. Kewaunee has clinched their spot in the WIAA playoffs already, alongside Southern Door. They will be looking to keep the Clippers out for at least one more week.

Sturgeon Bay (4-2 Overall, 3-1 Packerland), has got its offense clicking at the right time. Going into the home stretch of the season, the Clippers have scored 40 or more in their last three wins over Marinette, Peshtigo, and most recently Oconto. Danny Lodl will be in the running for All-Packerland Conference 1st team Quarterback with his play recently, and the trio of running backs have been doing their job. An underrated part of the Clippers success though, has been their ability to shut down offenses, and play a clean game on special teams. The Clippers will have their hands full with the Kewaunee Storm, but if there was any time to play them if you’re Sturgeon Bay, it is right now while the team is clicking.

Listen to the broadcast of Sturgeon Bay vs Kewaunee on 103.3 The Clipper, 96.7 WBDK HD-2, and NewRadioSportsNetwork.com with the pregame show beginning at 6:45 with kickoff set for 7:00 from Memorial Field.

Kewaunee hosts Southern Door on volleyball court

Kewaunee hopes Thursday is the night for their first win on the volleyball court.

The Storm earned their first set win since the end of August on Tuesday, but they eventually lost their match against Sturgeon Bay.

The Eagles lost their first set before winning three straight to beat NEW Lutheran. The Shimon combination of Alaina and Kendra combined for 11 kills, 32 assists, and 21 digs in the victory.

The two meet against each other beginning at 7 p.m.

Kewaunee, Southern Door runs over to Reedsville Thursday

Two local teams will head south for cross-country action on Thursday.

Kewaunee and Southern Door will visit Reedsville for an invitational featuring the host school. Brillion, Chilton, Denmark, Green Bay N.E.W. Lutheran, Hilbert, Manitowac Lutheran, Mishicot, Oconto Falls, Providence Academy (Green Bay), Roncalli, Sheboygan Lutheran, St. Ignatius, and Valders. The first races begin at 4 p.m.

Kewaunee tennis hosts Kiel

The Kewaunee tennis will bring its match home on Tuesday as it welcomes Kiel.

Limited results have been found this season, but the Storm has been able to hold its own in the meets we have been able to find despite having a short roster.

First matches begin at 4 p.m.

Storm run through Mishicot Friday night

The Kewaunee Storm handled the Mishicot Indians at home by a score of 49-7.

Kewaunee was able to come home with a win in their homecoming game, after rolling over Mishicot by halftime. This keeps Kewaunee undefeated and tied at the top of the Packerland conference with Southern Door, and Sturgeon Bay following close behind. Kewaunee has not slowed down on offense one bit, once again scoring over 40 points, continuing a trend of scoring 40 or more in every conference game.

Mishicot will fall to 2-2 in conference and 3-3 overall. That puts them behind Sturgeon Bay and tied for 4th in the conference with Bonduel. The offense will have to get going if Mishicot wants to have a successful second half of the season.

Kewaunee will travel to Sturgeon Bay next week, and Mishicot will host the Bonduel Bears.

Storm cross country takes advantage of fast Bremser course

Fast competition usually leads to faster times, and that was the case for the Kewaunee cross country teams on Thursday at the Bremser Invite hosted by Mishicot.

Every runner set a season best and five set personal records as the Storm boys earned a sixth-place finish with 181 points. Christopher Cullen led the way with an 11th place finish and a time of 17:57 on the 5K course.

Kewaunee hosts Mishicot in Packerland clash

The Kewaunee Storm will host the Mishicot Indians in a Packerland conference matchup on Friday night.

Kewaunee (5-0 Overall, 3-0 Packerland), were led by Owen Carlson last game, and they will look to lead on him once again against Mishicot, who has a strong showing in the conference so far this season. Kewaunee has shown why they have been a force in the conference these past few seasons, and have continued that up with multiple shutdown performances in this years conference play. The Storm will hope to add to that list against Mishicot, who is freshly coming off a win, looking to play upset.

Mishicot (3-2 Overall, 2-1 Packerland), currently sit tied for third in the Packerland and have won two in a row after a slow 1-2 start. Mishicot is lead by their defense, and Quarterback Logan Marquardt, who has put up 5 combined touchdowns on the season so far. In Mishicot’s 3 wins, they have only given up a total of 6 points, with those points coming from non-conference opponent Manitowoc Lutheran.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 P.M.

Storm volleyball looks for first win against Algoma

The Kewaunee volleyball team hopes a county rivalry will lead them to their first victory of the season when they welcome Algoma.

The Storm is 0-11 on the year, including a loss in straight sets to Gibraltar last week. They have not won a set since their opening season loss to Hilbert.

The Wolves have fared better, posting a 6-6 mark. They split a pair against Gibraltar during last weekend's Hilbert invite en route to a 3-2 tournament record.

Match time is set for 7 p.m.

Kewaunee soccer looks for win over county rival Algoma

The Kewaunee soccer team could use a win and one over Algoma could be the boost they need for the rest of the season.

After getting blown out earlier this season in their first three matches, the Storm has played better despite the lack of positive results in seven matches. They lost 5-4 in the shootout against Sheboygan Falls on Saturday after playing to a 3-3 tie. They have multiple goals in their last two matches.

The Wolves are 5-2-1 on the season, posting points in their last six matches. They beat Cedar Grove-Belgium 4-3 earlier this week on Tuesday. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

Kewaunee beats Bonduel to stay perfect

The Kewaunee Storm went into Bonduel looking to remain undefeated, and that is exactly what they did, beating the Bears 40-19.

The Storm were lead by Owen Carlson, who had a big night for Kewaunee in the win over Bonduel. The team has shown once again that they can score in numbers, and they have not been slowed down at all so far this season in Packerland play. Kewaunee has put up 145 points in three packerland conference games, for an average of 48.3 points per game in those matchups.

Bonduel fell to 2-3 after this game with a 1-2 record in the Packerland. Bonduel will travel to Marinette next week, looking to get back on track and get back into a potential playoff position.

Kewaunee will stay home next week and take on Mishicot.

Storm look to stay undefeated against Bonduel

Kewaunee will take a trip to take on the Bonduel Bears in a Packerland conference football match.

The Kewaunee Storm (4-0 Overall, 2-0 Packerland), have been rolling through Packerland play so far, outscoring their opponents 105-8 with the wins being over Oconto and Marinette. The running game for the Storm has been the story of the season, with Quarterback Mitchell Thompson only throwing for one touchdown in the 7 touchdown performance against the Oconto Blue Devils. Kewaunee will look to keep a perfect record against a stingy Bonduel Bears team.

Bonduel (2-2 Overall, 1-1 Packerland), has played a tough beginning portion of their schedule, with games against Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door, and now Kewaunee. Bonduel blew out Sturgeon Bay 42-7, then was shutout by the Eagles 6-0 and now face the undefeated Storm. Bonduel will be battle tested come the end of the season, and will look to come out of that 3 game stretch over .500.

The game is set for 7:00 P.M. in Bonduel.

Kewaunee travels to Peshtigo for soccer matchup

Two teams at the bottom of the boys soccer standings in the Packerland Conference will be looking for their first conference win as Kewaunee takes a trip up to Peshtigo.

Kewaunee (0-5 Overall, 0-3 Packerland), is still looking to snap that long losing streak that they have, which has now reached 19 games in a row, dating back to last season. That has not been hanging over the heads of the Storm though, as they put up a really solid effort against the Gibraltar/Sevastopol Vikineers, losing to them by only one goal, 2-1. The Storm will look to get that first win under their belts Thursday night against the Bulldogs.

Peshtigo (1-4 Overall, 0-3 Packerland), have had their own struggles so far this season, but like the Storm, have been putting up solid showings against Packerland opponents this season. Losing 2-0 to Gibraltar/Sevastopol and 2-1 to Algoma. The Bulldogs will look to get in the win column starting with the match against the Storm.

The match is set for 4:30 P.M.

Kohnle commits to Division II Winona State

Kewaunee’s Peyton Kohnle has committed to the Division II Winona State Warriors for baseball.

Kohnle was voted as an unanimous All Packerland Conference 1st team infielder this past season, leading Kewaunee to a 15-8 overall record and a 3rd place finish in the conference this past season. Kewaunee went all the way to the sectional semifinals, before losing to Amherst 5-1. The Falcons of Amherst would then go on to lose to Cuba City in the state semifinals.

Winona State plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has teams familiar to this area, with Upper Iowa, Bemidji State and the University of Minnesota Duluth all being teams that have offered local athletes at some point. Winona State went 14-12 in NSIC play last year, and 17-23 Overall.

Kohnle will be joining a good program at Winona State and look to make an impact there like he did at Kewaunee.

Kewaunee cross country heads south for invite

The Kewaunee cross country team heads to Sheboygan Area Lutheran on Tuesday.

Christopher Cullen has been getting better every meet, improving his best time on the season to 18:37.8 at the Roncalli Invitational. That time was good enough to land him with a 5th place finish in Roncalli, and Cullen will look to improve it again in Sheboygan.

The girls team is still led by the likes of Hannah Morton and Hannah Miller with their two impressive times in the 22 minute range. 5 runners for the Storm are all under 30 minutes with their times.

The meet is set for 4:30 P.M.

Kewaunee volleyball welcomes Brillion

A pair of regional rivals will match up Tuesday evening in volleyball as Kewaunee welcomes Brillion.

The Storm has had a rough start to the season as they look for their first victory of the season. They were swept 2-0 in their two matches against Arrowhead and East Troy at the Kettle Moraine Invite last weekend.

The Tigers just captured their first win after starting the season 0-3 as they beat Kiel in four sets last Friday.

Match time is set for 7 p.m.

Storm soccer looks for break through against Howards Grove

Breaking the win column for the first time in over a year is the goal Monday afternoon when they host Howards Grove.

The Storm has not won a match since they beat Green Bay West in their season opener last season. They did get close their last time out as they lost to Gibraltar/Sevastopol 2-1. It marked their second straight match with at least one goal after being shut out the previous two matches. No result was shared from their match against Washington Island.

After beating Green Bay West 13-0 in their season opener, Howards Grove has lost three straight while registering only one goal. They have given up 17 goals on the season.

Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.

Kewaunee rolls over Blue Devils

The Kewaunee Storm were all over the Oconto Blue Devils tonight, winning 49-0.

Kewaunee continued to show their dominance over the Packerland conference tonight, proving that their stout defense from last season is once again back and potentially better than it was last year. Only letting up 8 points so far in Packerland play and once again winning a game by over 40 points has been a call to all the teams in the conference that Kewaunee is once again a team at the top of the standings.

Kewaunee will take on Bonduel next week in a tough conference matchup.

Storm host Blue Devils in battle of undefeated teams

The Kewaunee Storm seek to remain perfect when they play host to the Oconto Blue Devils Friday night.

Kewaunee (3-0), finally found themselves with a comfortable lead this season, beating the Marinette Marines 56-8 last week. The two games before that for the Storm were tightly contested, winning 28-21 over Kiel and 21-20 against Mineral Point. Kewaunee has always been balanced on the offensive and defensive end, and have showed that once again this season, leading to them being ranked #6 in Division 5 by WSN and in the Fox 11 top 11 in the #9 spot. The Storm will look to keep the offense rolling in conference play against Oconto.

The Blue Devils (3-0), are an offensive nightmare, letting up 14 points in 3 total weeks. Oconto has been in 2 low scoring battles, beating Oconto Falls 7-6 and Peshtigo 8-0. QB/RB Kyle Bowman has led the offense the whole season, rushing the ball 75 times for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns while only having 7 passing attempts the whole year.

The matchup is set for 7:00 P.M. in Kewaunee.

Storm girls tennis travels to Howards Grove for meet

The Kewaunee girls tennis team will be back in action as they have a match at Howards Grove Thursday.

Kewaunee lost their last match to Roncalli/Two Rivers in a 3-1 loss. In the match before that, they were taking on Ripon, and lost 7-0 due to some forfeits. The Storm will take on Howards Grove in Howards Grove this match.

The match is set for 4:00 P.M.

Storm football sinks Marines

The Kewaunee football team jumped out to a 42-0 halftime lead and was never threatened in a 56-8 win over new conference opponent Marinette last Friday.

The Storm alternated between touchdown runs and passing scores in the first half before scoring another on the ground for their lone points in the third quarter.

The only joy in the game for the Marines' faithful was quickly erased as the Storm returned the ensuing kickoff 77 yards for their eighth touchdown of the game. The Storm defense allowed just the eight points and 110 yards of offense.

Kewaunee soccer looks for first victory

The Kewaunee soccer team hopes its first win is outside of the tri-county area when it travels to Cedar Grove-Belgium on Tuesday.

The Storm has not scored since its August 23rd game against Luxemburg-Casco. They have been outscored 25-1.

The Rockets had their first crash landing of the season with a 7-0 loss to Sheboygan Christian. They had won their previous three matchups by an 18-3 margin.

Cullen, Morton lead Storm in De Pere Invitational

The Kewaunee Storm raced with some of the top teams in the region at UW-Green Bay on Thursday as they hosted the De Pere Invitational.

The Kewaunee soccer team are still trying to get their first goal in conference play this season after losing to NEW Lutheran 7-0 on Thursday.

The Storm could only muster one shot on goal during the match, resulting in a save by Jack Henschel. Kewaunee volleyball struggles against NEW Lutheran

The Kewaunee volleyball team struggled to get their offense going on Thursday, getting swept by NEW Lutheran.

It took until the third set for the Storm to crack the 20-point barrier, falling to the Blazers in straight sets 25-13, 25-12, 25-20.

Kewaunee looks to stay undefeated against Marines

Kewaunee will travel to the Wisconsin Upper Michigan border as they take on the Marinette Marines and welcome them officially to the Packerland conference.

Kewaunee (2-0), has won two straight one possession games to begin the season. Beating Kiel 28-21, and recently winning in Mineral Point 21-20. After winning the Packerland last season, the Storm will open their defending conference season against one of the two newcomers to the conference. Kewaunee is led by senior quarterback Mitchell Thompson, and their great defense has frustrated opposing offenses.

Marinette (1-1), blew out Green Bay East 41-0 in Week one, and then got the favor returned to them as Menominee (MI) had their number beating the Marines 40-6. Looking to turn the tide back into the win column against the Storm, Marinette will look to lean on their offense being multidimensional to go up against the stifling Storm defense.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 P.M. in Marinette

Kewaunee hosts home meet in Tennis

The Kewaunee girls tennis team will hit the court once again on Thursday afternoon as they will host a match against Roncalli and Two Rivers Co-Op team.

Kewaunee will be playing in their 5th match of their season, with no scores being reported for them, so results are unknown for their season so far. The Roncalli and Two Rivers Co-Op team have been a part of 4 matches so far this season, so the season is getting underway officially for both teams.

The match will begin at 4:00 P.M. in Kewaunee.

Kewaunee cross country looks to improve at UWGB meet

The Storm cross country team is in for a big invitational as they take a trip to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay for the De Pere Invitational Thursday afternoon.

For the boys team, as expected Christopher Cullen has stepped up for Kewaunee, as he ran a 18:44.0 at the Two Rivers Invitational, which placed him 23rd in a competitive boys field. He will look to improve on that time at UWGB.

For the girls, a newcomer to the team ran the best time so far for the Storm. Hannah Miller ran a 22:28.0 also at the Two Rivers Invitational, which was a personal best for her. Behind her is Hannah Morton, just under 3 seconds behind Miller. The Kewaunee girls team could be primed for a good finish come results at the meet.

The meet is scheduled to kick off at 5:20 for the girls race, and 5:50 for the boys race.

Kewaunee hosts NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy in soccer showdown

The Kewaunee Storm will host the NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy Blazers for a conference battle.

The Storm have started their season off rough, going 0-2 and being outscored in their games by a total score of 18-1. Kewaunee will look to turn around the streak of losing they’ve found themselves in, going back to the first game of last season. Since that first game against Green Bay West, the Storm are on a 17 game losing streak, but could see themselves snapping it against a tough matchup against the Blazers.

NEW/Providence Academy has had a hot start to their season, going 3-1-1 in their 5 matches. Participating in the CWC Tournament this weekend, they went 1-1-1 after winning their first conference game 4-0 over the Peshtigo Bulldogs.

The match is set to begin at 4:30 P.M. in Kewaunee.
