The two teams exchanged punts early, but it was the Storm who got on the board first, when Diesel Bosdeck intercepted an Eli Derenne pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. The Spartans would drive down the field a couple times but be turned away by Kewaunee's defense each time. Bosdeck found the end zone again, taking a quarterback keeper 11 yards to increase the lead to 14-0. The Spartans drove down the field, but were turned away on 4th and goal, in the final minute of the first half.  

Luxemburg Casco received the opening kickoff of the 2nd half and got a great return, crossing midfield. A Spartans penalty backed up the offense and the drive stalled out. Kewaunee got a field goal late in the 3rd, to extend the lead to 17-0. Luxemburg Casco had one last gasp, as the Spartans picked their way down the field, capped off by a Ben Klass 1 yd touchdown. The Spartans went for a two point conversion but came up short. LC got a stop and had one more chance on offense but had another turnover on downs after a pair of drops late in the drive. Kewaunee ran down the clock, closing out the game on a fake punt to finish off the game. 

Kewaunee will travel to Bonduel to kick off Packerland Conference play next week, who will come into that contest 2-0 after a 19-7 win over Coleman on Friday. Luxemburg Casco is on the road again next Friday, traveling to the 2-0 Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian, which will be broadcasted on 104.1 WRLU.

The Kewaunee cross country team opened their 2026 season at nearby Two Rivers for their first invitational of the season.

On the girls side, Natalie Miller (31st, 22:37) and Alison Kuehl (50th, 24:11) finished in the Top 50.

On the boys side, Gage Vlies cracked the Top 50 with a time of 19:33 to come in 48th place.

The Kewaunee soccer team had no answers for the Providence Academy Paladins as they left Howard with a 16-0 defeat.

The Paladins peppered the Storm all night long with shots as they boasted a double-digit lead mere minutes into the second half and had other opportunities that went either wide of the net or off the woodwork.

The road does not get easier for the Storm as they will host Sturgeon Bay on August 31st.

The Kewaunee and Southern Door cross country teams will head south on Thursday for their first cross country race of the season when they run in the Two Rivers Invitational.

The Eagles welcome back Packerland Conference Top 10 finishers Colton Valley, Owen Larios Amezquita, and Malaina Veeser while the Storm will have Natalie Miller and Noelie El Kout back in their ranks after their Top 10 finishes.

Sixteen teams total will be on the course when the first races begin at 4:30 p.m. 

The Kewaunee soccer team begins Packerland play on Thursday with a match in Howard against Providence Academy.

The Storm was drubbed by Denmark 8-0 in their opener on Tuesday. Lincoln Arneson had two goals and two assists while Mason Rozek picked up two saves in the Vikings' win. The Storm's defense was assaulted by the Vikings, allowing 29 shots including 15 on goal.

Thursday's 4:30 p.m. kickoff will be the Paladins' first match of the season.

The Storm finished 2-17 last season and lost to Xavier11-4 to be eliminated from last year's tournament. Both wins came in 7-1 decisions against NEW Lutheran.

The Kewaunee Storm football season got off to a rough start on Friday night, falling to Fox Valley Lutheran on the road 42-0.

The Storm defense had no answers for Braden Heiges, who was responsible for five of the Foxes' six touchdowns in the rout (C/A 13/19 YDS 226 TDS 3, RUS 90 TDS 2).

Diesel Bosdeck commanded the offense the best he could in his new role, throwing for 128 yards and rushing for another 28 in the loss. Mason Kovacs collected three balls for 38 yards in the loss.

The Storm will try to right the ship on Friday when they welcome Luxemburg-Casco at 7 p.m. Eric Fischer will have the call on 104.1 WRLU beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Kewaunee Storm football season hits the road Friday night to open its 2026 campaign against Fox Valley Lutheran.

The Storm said good bye to a lot of talented seniors that made playoff runs in football, basketball, and baseball in recent memory, including an appearance in Level 2 on the gridiron. Gone are Brett Paulsen, Waylon Delain, Mitchell Boeder, Trevor Gauthier, Connor Kilgore, Bryce Tulachka, and Alec Carlson, who all made All-Packerland squads last year. The cupboard is definitely not empty, however, with All-Conference performers Dane Harrell, Diesel Bosdeck, Gregorio Medina, Ben VanGoethem, Blake Bortolini, and Blake Temme all likely returners.

The Foxes started last season 4-0, but lost four of their final six games including a slim 38-36 loss to Luxemburg-Casco in their playoff opener.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
