Storm race past Lions on 96.7 WBDK

The  Kewaunee football team only needed the first half to do its heavy lifting, cruising past the Brillion Lions 35-0 at Don Rabas Field.

The Storm scored on all five of its possessions in the first half, kicking things off with Waylon Delain scoring from three yards out to make it 7-0. Brett Paulsen would add his rushing score later in the quarter to make it 14-0.

In the second quarter, the Storm would do its damage from distance as Delain exploited a hole set up by great blocking on the line to scamper in from 34 yards out to make it 21-0. Paulsen would throw for a touchdown, this time on a 17-yard strike to Diesel Bosdeck. The scoring would end for the half and, subsequently, the entire game when Paulsen went sideline to sideline before scampering through the middle for a four-yard score to make it 35-0 at the break.

With a running clock, the Lions held onto the ball for most of the half but still struggled to get deep into Storm territory. The Storm's defense caused a pair of fumbles that they recovered in the second half, one of which came on a sack of Lions quarterback Joe Shimek. The other fumble recovery was in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, effectively ending the game on that note.

With Kiel's win over Peshtigo, the Storm will visit the Raiders next Friday night. Tim Kowols and Jacob Nate will have the action on U-102.1 beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
