Kewaunee's Maccaux Packerland Golf Player of the Year

Local schools dominated the post-season awards in golf for the Packerland Conference.

 

Finishing the conference slate with a string of victories, Kewaunee's Evan Maccaux won Player of the Year honors as a sophomore, in addition to his first-team honors. Conference champion Sturgeon Bay led all schools with two selections.

Kewaunee track puts several on podium

The Kewaunee track team came home from LaCrosse on Saturday with plenty of hardware in tow.

 

Every athlete who made the trip from Kewaunee made it to the finals, allowing them to compete in both days of events. Braxton Riha led the way for the boys by taking 3rd Place in the Shot Put. Christopher Cullen (5th Place 1600), Kemper Robinson (8th Place, Discus), and Maddix Mueller (8th Place, Triple Jump) wrap up the list of Storm athletes who scored points at state. The team also had a 9th-place finish for the 800 Relay (DJ Echols, Thomas Stangel, Maddix Mueller, Coy Kleiman Alternates Teagan Shaw, Owen Carlson, Jackson Wisnicky). For the Girls' side, Hannah Miller reached the podium in all three of her events, taking 4th in the 400m, 5th in the Triple Jump, and 6th place in the 800m.
