Storm volleyball hopes defend home court against Sturgeon Bay

The Kewaunee Storm volleyball looks to keep its spot in the Packerland standings when it plays at home Tuesday against Sturgeon Bay.

 

The Storm is tied for fourth with four points in the Packerland points, but carry a tiebreaker advantage with one less loss compared to NEW Lutheran. The Storm suffered its first loss of the season last Thursday when it lost in straight sets to Algoma.

 

The Clippers sit in the seventh spot in the Packerland and tied with Algoma with two points. They lost matches to Valders and Menasha during the Valders Invite on Saturday.

 

Match time is set for 7 p.m.

Kewaunee tennis in action vs. Kiel

The Kewaunee tennis team will head to the courts again on Tuesday to face Kiel.

 

It is one of the final opportunities for the Storm to get matches in before their date at the WIAA Sub-Sectionals at St. Mary Catholic next week on either October 4th.

 

The first match is slated to begin at  4 p.m. in Kiel.

Storm soccer blown out by Roncalli

The Kewaunee soccer team was mercy-ruled again on Monday, falling to Roncalli 10-0.

 

Greg Oberbroeckling, Thomas Augustine, Matthew Bonin all scored hat tricks in the game for the Jets while Jacob Hamann registered a pair of assists. 

Storm soccer searches for offense at Roncalli Monday

The Kewaunee soccer team hopes they are able to find the back of the net in its match against Roncalli on Monday afternoon in Manitowoc.

 

Since beating Green Bay West 3-1 in its first match, the Storm have only scored five goals in seven matches while they have given up 56 goals. That includes four matches where they gave up at least 10 goals.

 

Roncalli are 9-2 overall with a 3-2 record in the EWC/Packerland. They held off Peshtigo in last Thursday's match for 3-2 victory.

 

The match begins at 4:30 p.m.

Kewaunee earns conference win over Bears

The Kewaunee football team is now winners in four straight games after beating the Bonduel Bears on Friday by a 27-12 final score. Kewaunee is also 4-2 overall this season with a 4-0 conference record. The Storm have won each of their last three games by at least two scores, and all were at home. The Storm’s home stand ends on Friday, October 1st when they head to Mishicot. That game will be kicked off at 7:00 PM.

Cullen captures Bremser small-school crown

Kewaunee's Cameron Cullen beat the pack in the small school division to win the Jim Bremser Invitational on Thursday.

 

Cullen's time of 16:51 on the 5K course would have been good enough for third overall among large and small schools. The Storm took third among all small schools with 97 points scored. Hannah Morton and Natalie Pansier each registered top 20 and sub-23 minute performances to lead the Storm girls to a ninth place finish with 199 points.

Kewaunee soccer faces toughest test at home

The Kewaunee Storm soccer team is looking for its first win in over a month when it hosts Wrightstown at home on Thursday.

 

The Storm has been unable to win a match since beating Green Bay West in the season opener 3-1. During their current six-game losing streak, the Storm has only mustered five goals, three of which came in a 10-3 loss to Gibraltar/Sevastopol.

 

The Tigers come into the match 8-4, demolishing Clintonville 8-2 on Tuesday.

 

The opening kick is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Kewaunee tennis visits Kohler

The Kewaunee tennis team will make the trip south on Tuesday to face Kohler.

 

Earlier this month, the Storm nearly won its first dual meet against Roncalli despite not having a full roster, falling to the Jets 3-2.

 

The first serve is expected at 4 p.m.

Storm football gets above .500 with win

The Kewaunee Storm powered ahead for their third straight win, beating Oconto 21-7. The win improved their overall record this season to 3-2. All three of Kewaunee’s wins have come in conference play, and their losses have been non-conference ones. Kewaunee’s next opponent is Bonduel, who has a 1-3 overall record and hung tough with Southern Door on Friday night before being downed by the Eagles, 22-8. Kewaunee will be the host team for the Friday showdown with Bonduel and kickoff will be at 7:00 PM.  

The Storm wash away Gibraltar in volleyball match

Kewaunee was able to defend their home court against their conference foe, Gibraltar, on Thursday evening. Kewaunee won the match in three sets, and moved on to 4-2 overall this season. Gibraltar’s overall record drops to 3-7 on the season. Gibraltar will get to rest before they try to rebound when they take on Algoma on Tuesday, September 28th. Kewaunee’s next match will also be against Algoma but it will be a bit earlier, and on Thursday, September 23rd. 

Storm football going for three straight on Friday

The Kewaunee Storm have been rolling in their last two games and now have a chance to get over the .500 mark on Friday with their game against Oconto.

The Storm are coming off of a 40-6 win over Clintonville and have a 2-2 overall record. Oconto is 1-2 overall and fell 14-0 in their last game two weeks ago to Bonduel. The last time that Kewaunee played Oconto, the Storm won 43-8 in 2019. When the two teams face off on Friday it will be at 7:00 PM in Kewaunee. 

 

Storm host Vikings to open conference volleyball action

Gibraltar will visit Kewaunee for a volleyball game on Thursday night as both teams will be opening up a slate of conference games. Both teams are trying to find rhythm in the early going this season as Kewaunee is coming off of a loss and Gibraltar is coming off of a win. Including tournament play, Gibraltar’s record is 3-4 overall and Kewaunee is 3-2. It will be the first Packerland game for both teams. First serve is set for 7:00 PM. 

 

Storm soccer looking for first September win on Thursday

The Kewaunee Storm will try and tighten up their defensive play in order to win their Thursday road matchup with New Holstein/EL-G. The Storm’s last win came on August 31st, and they’ve lost in their three games since. New Holstein/EL-G is 1-6 on the season and coming off a shutout loss to Sturgeon Bay. Thursday’s game between Kewaunee and New Holstein/EL-G takes place under the lights at 7:00 PM. 

 

Kewaunee drops non-conference volleyball match

The Kewaunee Storm had a tune-up match on the road but fell to Brillion in four sets. With the loss, the Storm are now 3-2 overall. The Storm will proceed with their conference schedule starting on Thursday when they host Gibraltar. The Vikings will be Kewaunee’s first Packerland opponent this season. First serve on Thursday is at 7:00 PM. 

Storm soccer to defend home turf against Sheboygan Falls

The Kewaunee Storm boys soccer team will try to get its record back to .500 when Kewaunee hosts Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday. Kewaunee is coming off of a 10-3 defeat to Gibraltar-Sevastopol, who Sheboygan Falls also played and tied with, 1-1. Kewaunee’s record heading into the matchup is 1-2 and Sheboygan Falls record is 1-2-1. Tuesday’s game starts at 4:30 PM. 

Storm volleyball sweeps Roncalli

The Kewaunee volleyball got their week off to a strong start on Monday in Manitowoc.

 

The Storm swept their rivals from Roncalli in straight sets, winning 25-22, 25-14, and 25-21.

 

They are right back at it Tuesday night when they travel to face Brillion at 7 p.m.

Kewaunee volleyball looks for bounceback at Roncalli

The Kewaunee volleyball team hopes a trip to Manitowoc on Monday goes better than their last match.

 

The Storm took the first set in their match against Reedsville 25-22 before dropping the final three sets. The loss dropped them to 2-1 on the season.

 

They face a Roncalli squad that is 0-5 in recorded matches this year. No results were posted from their matches against Kohler in Chilton. Their last defeat came at the hands of Sevastopol where they were able to force a third set in the triangular meet before falling 15-4 in the decisive frame. 

 

The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Kewaunee boys finish in 3rd at Roncalli XC Invite

The Kewaunee cross country teams had a strong showing at Saturday's Roncalli Invitational.

 

The Cullen brothers medaled with top 20 finishes. Cameron finished in 3rd and Christopher came in 17th. The Storm scored 89 points, finishing behind Valders and Two Rivers. 

 

The JV teams also competed with the boys finishing in second.

Storm football looks for second win against Clintonville

The Kewaunee Storm hopes to continue their winning ways on the gridiron Friday night when they host Clintonville.

 

The Storm secured their first win of the season last week by topping Peshtigo 28-20. All of their games have been competitive with no contest being decided by more than nine points. 

 

The Truckers are 2-1 on the season, shutting out Mishicot last week 26-0. Their other win was a 56-24 victory over Green Bay West.

 

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Storm football in the winning column

After one and two-score losses in the first two games, Kewaunee football is winless no more after a 28-20 victory over Peshtigo on Friday. The conference road win sets Kewaunee up for another conference matchup with Clintonville on September 10th. Clintonville comes into the game with a 2-1 record and most recently beat Mishicot 26-0 on Friday. Kewaunee and Clintonville were set up for a 2020 matchup, but that game never did take place. Friday’s game starts at 7:00 PM. 

Kewaunee cross country runs at De Pere Thursday

The Kewaunee cross country team heads back to the trail on Thursday with an invitational hosted by De Pere.

 

West De Pere, Luxemburg-Casco, Green Bay West, Lena, Shawano Community, Bay Port, and Wrightstown are also scheduled to compete when the races kick off at 4:30 p.m. 

 

The Storm boys finished in sixth place at last week's Two Rivers Invite with Cameron Cullen leading the way. Hannah Morton paced the short-handed Storm girls squad.

Storm boys soccer gets first win

Kewaunee opened up their season on a high note on Tuesday with a 3-1 victory over Green Bay West on the road. The Storm won 3-1. Kewaunee is now 1-0 on the season and hosts Peshtigo on Thursday. First touch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
