Kewaunee’s Peyton Kohnle has committed to the Division II Winona State Warriors for baseball.
Kohnle was voted as an unanimous All Packerland Conference 1st team infielder this past season, leading Kewaunee to a 15-8 overall record and a 3rd place finish in the conference this past season. Kewaunee went all the way to the sectional semifinals, before losing to Amherst 5-1. The Falcons of Amherst would then go on to lose to Cuba City in the state semifinals.
Winona State plays in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference has teams familiar to this area, with Upper Iowa, Bemidji State and the University of Minnesota Duluth all being teams that have offered local athletes at some point. Winona State went 14-12 in NSIC play last year, and 17-23 Overall.
I am excited to announce that I will be pursuing my athletic and academic career at Winona State University. I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches that got me to this point. I’d also like to thank coach Reilly and Wing for giving me this opportunity. @WinonaStateBase pic.twitter.com/pRt12wlFeu

Kohnle will be joining a good program at Winona State and look to make an impact there like he did at Kewaunee.
