The GIbraltar volleyball team heads to Crivitz for a multi-team tournament on Tuesday.

The Vikings are coming off of a 5-24 season, which included a 13-match losing streak to end the year. They fell to Roncalli in their final match a year ago.

Florence, Goodman-Pembine, Green Bay Southwest, Marinette, Mercer, Niagara, and Peshtigo will also be making the trip to battle the Vikings and the host Wolverines with the first serves set for 9 a.m.

The Gibraltar/Sevastopol United soccer team opens play on Tuesday with a match in Fish Creek against Wrightstown.

The United went 12-7-3 last season, scoring 59 goals while allowing 37. Their season ended in the regional final round with 2-0 loss to Kiel after tipping Roncalli 3-2 in the semifinal. 

The Tigers went 5-10-3 with a -5 goal differential. They were eliminated from the postseason with a 2-1 loss to Algoma.

Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.

It was the worst of halves, it was the best of halves that still left the Gibraltar Vikings on the losing end of a 30-16 decision to the NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy Blazers on Thursday.

The Blazers struck first in the opening the game when Hayden Schultz found Cashe Martin for a 41 yard touchdown pass to make it 6-0. The Vikings drove the length of the field, only to fumble in the red zone and see the Blazers turn it into another touchdown drive, this time concluding with a 37 yard touchdown pass from Schultz to Julian Trimberger to make it 14-0. It was a case of deja vu in the Vikings' second drive as they fumbled the ball again in the red zone only to see the Blazers turn it into another touchdown to make it 22-0 The Blazers capped off their scoring on a Andrew Kim four-yard touchdown catch following a blocked punt to make it 30-0 at the break.

The Vikings started the second half on the wrong foot when Hobbs Emerson threw an interception deep in Blazers territory. That set up a momentum shift in their favor when Wyatt Bultman sacked Schultz in the endzone to make it 30-2. On the ensuing drive, Emerson led the Vikings down the field before cashing in on a one yard touchdown carry to make it 30-10.

After a short Bultman kick that was recovered by the Vikings, Emerson engineered another scoring drive, this time ending with Jake Larson's first touchdown of the season on a clever misdirection in the backfield.

Long drives made possessions limited in the fourth quarter with neither team able to find the endzone. Emerson nearly snuck in to make it a one score game with just over 90 seconds remaining, but the Blazers' James Roeske made a tackle short of the pylon to prevent the Vikings comeback from continuing.

The Vikings are back in action next Friday night when they welcome Oneida Nation to Fish Creek. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 6:45 p.m. followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Gibraltar Vikings open their 2026 campaign at home Thursday night when they welcome NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy to Fish Creek.

The VIkings are coming off a 2-6 campaign a year ago with an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs before dropping their final two games of the season. Wyatt Bultman is the only All-Across the Bay Conference player they have returning from last season's squad and the Vikings will have to replace all but 19 yards of its passing and all but 150 yards of its rushing. With a lot of new faces, head coach Mike Peck is relying on the kids that were on the team to shift into some new roles and grow as leaders.

The Blazers were 4-4 including a 43-26 win over the Vikings on September 12th, 2025. In that game, Hayden Schultz threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another three scores to guide the Blazers to victory. The Blazers will be playing without some of the players they had on last year's squad after Oneida Nation separated from the co-op to form their own team.
