Viking boys get second blowout win

The Gibraltar Vikings boys' basketball team has its offense firing on all cylinders after securing its second straight win.

 

The Vikings beat Hilbert 95-62 just two days after beating Palmyra-Eagle by over 50 points on Saturday. They play again on Saturday against Laona-Wabeno.

Vikings boys battle Hilbert at home

The Gibraltar Vikings' boys basketball team looks to make it two-in-a-row on Monday when they host Hilbert Monday night in Fish Creek.

 

The Vikings limited Palmyra-Eagle to just six points in the second half of its 77-22 win on Saturday. Two players reached double figures including 14 points from Sam Lindenberg. Hilbert is playing its first game of the season on Monday before playing Kohler on Tuesday. 

 

Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.

Gibraltar boys look to hit ground running vs. Palmyra-Eagle

The Gibraltar Vikings boys' basketball team hopes to get their season off to a good start when they host Palmyra-Eagle in Fish Creek on Saturday.

 

The Vikings led by Justin Burress reached the regional semifinals last year, falling to Manitowoc Lutheran as they ended their regular season out of character with four losses in five tries. They do return All-Packerland Conference First-Team standout Sam Lindenberg back into the fold. Palmyra-Eagle had a rough go against things on Friday when they lost to Algoma 68-27. Brady Koopman scored 10 points in the loss.

 

Tip is set for 1 p.m.

Lady Vikes open basketball season in Hilbert

The Gibraltar Vikings girls' basketball team will get their season underway Friday night with a non-conference matchup at Hilbert.

 

The Vikings went 4-9 last season, eventually bowing out to Sevastopol 54-31 in its lone playoff game. It will be missing its two All-Conference performers last year, Karlee Kita and Sage Krause, due to graduation. Hilbert narrowly lost its season opener to Lourdes Academy on Tuesday 42-41. Three players reached double figures in the loss, including 14 from Emmery Wiese.

 

Tip is set for 7:15. 

Gibraltar boasts strong All-Conference class for football

The Gibraltar football team collected 14 selections to the MONLPC-8 East All-Conference Team announced earlier this month.

 

Sam Lindenberg: 1st Team Quarterback

Jack Duffy: 1st Team Defensive Line. 2nd Team Offensive Line

Braden Sitte: 2nd Team Placekicker, 2nd Team Offensive End, 2nd Team Defensive Back

Marshall Maltby: 2nd Team Linebacker, Honorable Mention Offensive Lineman

Will Friedenfels: 2nd Team Defensive Line, Honorable Mention Offensive End

Giuseppe Mercier: Honorable Mention Defensive Line

Cooper Cole: Honorable Mention Linebacker

Emmet Moroney: 2nd Team Punter, Honorable Mention Offensive Lineman

 

The Vikings just missed the playoffs this year with a 4-4 record.
