The Pioneers are 1-2 since they returned from almost a month off due to quarantine issues and holiday break. Head coach Ron Frank says the hardest thing so far has been shaking off the rust from the time off.

Despite the number of seniors on the team, Frank says many of the players did not get varsity minutes last year. It is also their third coach in three years. Despite the challenges, Frank believes his team is acclimating well.

The Sevastopol Pioneers girls' basketball team will have a tall task ahead of them to keep their winning streak going as they head to Kewaunee for a Packerland Conference affair.

They have shown an amazing ability to close out games as they held onto beat Peshtigo 43-41 and Gibraltar 47-46 on consecutive nights. A big reason why has been Zoe Kuehn, who leads the team with 15.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.

The Storm is a perfect 5-0 in Packerland play, including a 37-30 slugfest against Peshtigo on Friday night. Mykenzi Uhlers scored 18 points in the win. The only two losses for the Storm have been to a pair of non-conference opponents by a total of three combined points.

The Sevastopol Pioneers are looking to finally get into the groove of the season when they play at home against Tigerton on Monday night.
