Sevastopol announces 2023 Hall of Fame Class

The Sevastopol School District announced the latest additions to their Athletic Hall of Fame on Monday.

 

The Sevastopol Athletic Hall of Fame Committee bases their selections on a number of different categories including includes male athletes, female athletes, coaches, or sports contributions. 

 

The second class of inductees includes:

Male Athlete: Carl Tebon (’85)

Female Athlete: Sherri (DeFere) Stenzel (’89)

Coach: John Toppe

Team: 1985 State Championship Baseball Team

Sports Contributor: Leif Lautenbach

 

The class will be enshrined on Friday, September 15th for a private banquet for family and friends beginning at 4:30 PM to 6:30PM in the Pioneer Room before being honored during the football game later that evening.

Sevastopol track athletes end season at state

The state meet marked the end of the road for members of the Sevastopol track team.

 

Danica Werkheiser ended her junior season with a 14th-place finish with a final height of 5-0. Kylie Duessler came in 16th place in the 200m preliminaries, finishing in a time of 27.95. Bea Dramm came in 14th place in the 1600m run with a time of 5:42.45

United heads to Neenah to battle St. Mary Central in tournament opener

The Sevastopol/Gibraltar girls' soccer team heads to Neenah in hopes of extending their season when they play St. Mary Catholic.

 

The United finished 3-12-2 on the season, After earning two victories in a row in the middle of May, the United went winless in their final four matches, going 0-3-1 during that stretch.

 

The Zephyrs did not fare much better in its campaign, going 4-10-1 on the year. Their regular season ended with an eight-match losing skid, covering their entire slate in the month of May.

 

The first touch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
