Pioneers battle Len Nikolai Invitational course

The Sevastopol Pioneers cross country teams ran against some of the region's best squads Saturday at the Len Nikolai Invitational in Manitowoc.

 

The Pioneers girls took 21st out of the qualified teams. Naomi Rikkola paced the team once again, covering the 5K course in 23:04 to take 83rd place. Jarius Dadam was the lone Pioneer boy to run on Saturday, running a time of 18:37 to take 71st.

Sevastopol cross country hits the trail again in Manitowoc

The Sevastopol cross country team is back in action on Saturday as they compete in the Len Nikolai Manitowoc Invitational.

 

The Pioneers join Brookfield Central, Wisconsin Lutheran, West Bend East, Racine Case, Stevens Point, Kaukauna, Fond du Lac, Oshkosh West, Valders, Wauwatosa East, Cedarburg, Brown Deer, Grafton, Green Bay East, Green Bay Southwest, Green Bay West, Menomonee Falls, Oostburg, Ozaukee, Plymouth, Sheboygan North, Sheboygan Co-op, New Berlin Eisenhower, and Shawano Community for the races that begin at 9 a.m. at Meadow Links Golf Course in Manitowoc.

 

Naomi Rikkola and Jarius Dadam have paced their respective girls and boys' squads at every meet this season, including Thursday's Jim Bremser Memorial Invitational in Mishicot.

The Sevastopol Pioneers cross country teams navigated a large field and a tough course Thursday at the Jim Bremser Invitational hosted by Mishicot.

 

On the boys' side, Jarius Dadam snuck under 19 minutes to finish in 74th place. Naomi Rikkola ran a 5K time of 22:31 to finish in 56th.

Pioneers volleyball sweeps Bulldogs

The Sevastopol Pioneers volleyball team was threatened but never backed down as they defeated Peshtigo in three games Thursday night, 25-17, 25-20, 25-23.

 

The Pioneers were led by senior Kayla Ranly (5 aces, 7 kills, and 10 digs) and sophomore Aleah Volkmann  (7 kills).

 

The win places the Pioneers at 2-0 in the Packerland Conference and 13-8 overall.

DCU sinks Marines in the pool

Door County United Girls High School Swim team remains undefeated in conference matchups following their 133-24 win against Marinette High School on Thursday, 9/19/24. Marinette did not have any junior varsity swimmers; however, the junior varsity team had a lot of success and great finishes. Emma Moyer (SDHS) completed the junior varsity 200-yard freestyle for the first time in competition. Rachel Rock (SEV) finished first in the 100-yard freestyle and had a time of 1:28.65. This was her fastest time all season. As for varsity swimmers, Julia Michalski (SBHS) had yet another great night. She finished first in both of her individual events and assisted in two first-place finishes for the relays she was a part of. Quinn Sperber (SDHS) competed in the 500 freestyle for the first time in her high school career, finishing second overall.

Dadam, Rikkola pace Pioneers at Crusader Challenge

Jarius Dadam and Naomi Rikkola once again led the Sevastopol cross country teams out on the course on Tuesday, this time at the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusader Challenge.

 

Rikkola helped lead the Pioneers to a 10th place finish thanks to her 5K time of 20:46 being good enough to put her in the top 20 individually. Dadam was the lone boy competing for the Pioneers, finishing in the top 70 with a time of 20:46.

Sevastopol sweeps two in Roncalli Triangular

The Sevastopol Pioneer Volleyball team played a triangular at Roncalli High School along with Kohler and came away with two sweeps on Tuesday.

 

The Pioneers beat Roncalli 25-8 25-14 and Kohler 25-20 and 25-14.

 

Sevastopol is now 12-8 and returns to Packerland Conference action on Thursday at Peshtigo.

 

DCU swims at Ashwaubenon on Saturday

The Door County United swim team returns to action on Satuday when they swim at Ashwaubenon High School on Saturday.

 

Wittenberg-Birnamwood, Sheboygan North, Seymour, Pulaski, Notre Dame Academy, Kohler, Fond du Lac, Eau Claire Memorial, De Pere, and Bay Port are all scheduled to compete when the first events kick off at 10 a.m.

Pioneers' Rikkola, Dadam rolls on at Nightfall Classic

The Sevastopol Pioneers battled hundreds of runners at Winagamie Golf Course as a part of the Nightfall Classic 920 in Neenah.

 

Naomi Rikkola led the Pioneer girls to a 14th-place finish overall with 284 points, while the boys had Jarius Dadam break 20 minutes to lead all Pioneers on the 5k course.

Dadam, Rikkola leads Pioneers at Algoma Invitational

Familar faces for the Sevastopol cross country led the way once again at the Algoma Invitational on Tuesday.

 

Jarius Dadam paced the boys with a time of 19:57. The team itself did not have enough runners to qualify. The girls finished in the middle of the pack with 99 points, led by a seventh-place finish for Naomi Rikkola in a 5K time of 23:21.

The Schuh fits in Pioneers win over Eagles

The Sevastopol Pioneers scored once and it was all the needed in a 6-0 win over Suring Friday night.

 

Logan Schuh's touchdown was the only points scored in the game. Bo Tanck tested the Eagles defense, rushing for 70 yards on 12 carries on the night.

Pioneers runners take on UWGB course

The Sevastopol Pioneers were among the 30-plus teams that took on the UW-Green Bay cross country course for Thursday's De Pere Invitational.

 

The Pioneers girls took 25th overall, led by a top 60 performance by Naomi Rikkola, covering the hilly terrain in 22:25. The boys did not have enough runners to qualify as a team but they were paced by Jarius Dadam, who broke 20 minutes on the 5K course.

Sevastopol Volleyball knocks off Reedsville

The Sevastopol Pioneers defeated the Reedsville Panthers 3-1 Tuesday in Institute.

The Pioneers took the first set 25-14 before dropping set two 19-25.  Sevastopol then rebounded to take the final two sets, 25-21 and 25-12.   The Pioneers are now 7-4 for the season.
