Sevastopol Cruises Past Gillett Improving to 2-0

The Sevastopol Pioneers continued their 2025 season in dominant fashion Friday night, rolling to a 50-0 shutout victory over Gillett and improving to 2-0. So far, the Pioneers have allowed just 8 points, outscoring their opponents 116-8 through two games. 

 

Quarterback Logan Schuh continued his hot start, throwing for 217 yards, rushing for 184, and tallying four total touchdowns in another standout performance.

 

Schuh connected often with Bo Tanck, who finished with 80 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Ray Johnson added 90 yards and a score of his own.

 

The defense was just as dominant, keeping Gillett out of the end zone for four quarters. Cash Kuehn snagged an interception to highlight a unit that smothered the Tigers all night long.

 

Sevastopol will look to carry the momentum from their second statement win into next week’s matchup against Suring.

Pioneers girls take sixth at Freedom XC Invite

The Sevastopol cross country got their season off to a strong start at Freedom Invitational on Wednesday.

 

The girls finished in 6th place as a team in the small school division, led by freshman, Breiah Newton, who placed 15th overall and 4th plave in the division.

Senior Aaron Tomaszewski, placed 10th overall with a time of 17:32. The Pioneers also had Paxton Linnan finish in 25th with a time of 20:35. Landon Sitte take 34th with a time of 21:22.

 

 

Pioneers volleyball battle tough on opening day

It was a good first outing of the new season for the Sevastopol Pioneers volleyball team, playing in a lot of close matches. 

According to coach Rox Schopf, the squad learned alot on the day, beginning with Suring and losing a close one 22-25, 23-25.

 

We played Bonduel second and won 25-17, 25-23 and went onto beat Crandon 25-17, 25-15. The night with a close battle with Southern Door 25-28, 25-27, 8-15.

 

Stat leaders Brynn Schartner 33 assists,13 kills, 4 aces. New to the varsity floor Kendall Christianson, who had 28 assists, sophomore Braelyn Staats and Aleah Volkmann with 18 kills each, and libero Leah Schopf had 10 aces, 7 assists, and 40 digs.

 

The Pioneers head to the Dells for a two-day tournament on Thursday and they are excited to play some southern schools.

Pioneers kick off cross country season

The Sevastopol cross country teams are the first to start their season on Wednesday when they travel to Freedom for an invitational.

 

The invitational will also feature Brillion, Chilton, Coleman, Fox Valley Lutheran, Gillett, Green Bay East, Green Bay Preble, Marinette, New London, Oconto Falls, Oneida Nation, Peshtigo, Seymour, St. Ignatius / Chesterton Academy, St. Mary's Springs Academy, Weyauwega-Fremont, and Winneconne. 

 

The meet begins at 9:30 a.m. at Irish Waters Golf Course.

Pioneers run Wild on 'Cats

Logan Schuh was efficient with his nearly 130 yards of total offense as he led the Sevastopol Pioneers past the Wild Rose Wildcats 66-8 in their regular season opener on Thursday.

 

Logan Schuh threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another two while adding a pick-six to his game's resume to single-handedly dismantle the Wildcats on their home turf. Bo Tanck added 90 yards rushing and a touchdown while Roman LeClair and Reid Kacmarynski were both on the receiving end of Schuh touchdown passes.

 

The Pioneers go back to work on August 29th when they travel to Gillett for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
