In a game that was as even as it looked, the Sevastopol Pioneers came up just short against Oconto Thursday night, losing 60-58.
Both teams scored 29 points in the first half and both teams were led by All-Packerland Conference team candidates. The Blue Devils got 18 points apiece from Hannah Moe and Lianna Baxter, only to be matched by the Pioneers' Bailey Rikkola (19 points) and Zoe Kuehn (17 points). The game came down to the final eight seconds when Lauryn Hendzel was fouled and followed it up with a pair of made free throws. The Blue Devils would steal the ball in the final four seconds to secure the victory, snapping a Pioneers winning streak.
