DCBL Preview: Egg Harbor welcomes Baileys Harbor on 105.1 The GOAT

The battle of the harbors goes to the bayside Sunday as Egg Harbor welcomes Baileys Harbor.

Both teams were on the opposite sides of blowouts last week with the Indians pounding Institute 26-1 while the A's were on the short end of an 18-1 decision to Washington Island.

Quinn Struck and Jacob Nate will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 1 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 1:30 p.m.

Other Door County Baseball League games scheduled for 1:30 p.m. starts include West Jacksonport visiting Sister Bay, Institute hosting Washington Island, and Maplewood trekking to Kolberg.

After giving up the lead in the third inning, Kyle Routhieaux hit the go-ahead homer that led the Kolberg Braves past the West Jackonsport Ports 12-5 in Sunday's Door County Baseball League opener.

Routhieaux led the way for the Braves by getting on base five other times via walks, scoring three times, and swiping two bags.

Woody Schartner took the loss as the pitcher for the Ports, but he helped his own cause with three hits, including a two-run double in the third that tied the game in the third inning.

The Braves scored multiple runs in the sixth and ninth innings to pull away from the host Ports.

The Kolberg Braves look to improve on their playoff championship from last year when they travel to West Jacksonport to face the Ports Sunday afternoon.

The Braves won their first DCBL Playoff Championship since 2014 last year when they beat the Sister Bay Bays 5-1 behind a masterful pitching performance by current St. Norbert College product Trevor Reinhardt.

The Ports finished last season in the bottom half of the league, but beat the Braves in the shortened 2020 tournament.

Tim Kowols and Jacob Nate will have the action on 105.1 The GOAT and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 1 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the first pitch at 1:30 p.m.
