Peshtigo swept a doubleheader from Southern Door Baseball on Saturday, using a balanced offense and strong pitching to secure 6-0 and 12-2 victories.
In the opener, Peshtigo took control early and never trailed in a 6-0 win. Bryce Heroux sparked the offense, driving in a run with a first-inning single before adding to the lead with a bases-loaded walk in the second. Peshtigo built a 4-0 advantage through two innings and added insurance the rest of the way.
The Eagles managed seven hits, with Collin Everard, Will Price, Chase Massart, Caleb Guilette, Brock Delveaux, Hoyt Austad and Quintyn Schwartz each recording one.
In the second game, Peshtigo broke things open with a seven-run second inning on the way to a 12-2 victory.
Southern Door briefly led after Hoyt Austad drove in a run in the second, but Peshtigo answered immediately. Ezra Proft delivered the key hit in the decisive inning with a three-run double as Peshtigo surged ahead 7-1.
Paul Keske earned the win, allowing two runs over five innings. Mac Hoffman took the loss for Southern Door, giving up 10 runs, none earned, across four innings.
Austad and Everard each collected two hits for the Eagles, while Austad also drove in a run. Peshtigo was paced by Braydon Denowski’s three-hit performance, with Proft and Keske each driving in three runs.
Southern Door is scheduled to travel to Sturgeon Bay for its next game Tuesday.
