The Southern Door volleyball team is playing at home against Valders this Thursday for a WIAA Regional playoff game.
Southern Door opened its postseason run strong Tuesday night, defeating Mishicot 3-1 in the WIAA Regional Quarterfinals behind dominant stretches in the first, third, and fourth sets. The Eagles and Indians traded early points to start the night, tied 4-4 before Southern Door surged ahead 12-6, forcing a Mishicot timeout. The Eagles’ front line made their presence felt with key blocks and kills, closing the opening set 25-18. Mishicot responded in set two, taking advantage of Southern Door errors to build a 12-3 lead. The Eagles clawed back to within one at 16-15, but Mishicot held on to even the match with a 25-21 win. In the pivotal third set, Southern Door flipped the momentum with a burst of energy, turning a tight start into a commanding 15-7 lead that held through the finish, 25-15. The Eagles carried that control into set four, jumping ahead 15-6 and never looking back, closing the door on Mishicot 25-15 to seal the match.
The Vikings are coming off a 2-0 loss to Denmark.
