Eagle's Victorious Over Peshtigo 22-6 on U-102.1

The Southern Door Eagles did not give up a defensive point and defeat the Peshtigo Bulldogs 22-6 on Friday night on U102.1

The game started the same as last week for the Eagle's...giving up a opening kickoff return for a touchdown.  That would be where the similarities ended.  The extra point was missed, and with it, so did Bulldog scoring.  The following drive, Tallon Mueller would lead the Eagle offense down the field and cap off the drive with a 9-yard Raymond Paye touchdown.  The extra point would be missed as well leaving the game tied 6-6 at the end of the first.

In the second quarter, the Eagles would take their first lead since week 2.  On 4th and goal from the 10, Mueller would find Lauden Berg in the corner of the endzone for the touchdown and find Eli Jaden at the back of the endzone for the successful 2-point try to go up 14-6.  The Eagles would take that lead into the half.

Only a single touchdown would be added for either team in the second half.  That would come in the third quarter, when Mueller would cut through the Bulldog defense on a 6-yard touchdown run. The 2-point conversion would be good to set the score at the final 22-6.

While the Eagle's did find their offense this night, what may be the bigger impact was the defensive effort.  On 5 different Bulldog drives, the Eagles would force turnover on downs, as well end another fourth quarter drive with an interception

Southern Door will ride this momentum into next weeks homecoming matcup with Oconto.  That game can be heard on U102.1 with Jacob Nate, starting with the 6:45 PM pregame show, and a 7:00 PM kickoff on Friday September 26th.
