The Southern Door softball team gave up three separate three-run rallies as they fell to top-seed Brillion 10-2 on Thursday to end their season.
The Eagles gave up one run in the first inning by three runs in the second, fifth, and sixth innings to put the game out of reach. The Eagles were able to cut a four-run deficit in half in the fourth inning when Samantha Melville singled, allowing Madison Counard to score on an error before Alanah Kaye brought her home on a single.
Lions pitching limited the Eagles to five hits while limiting the damage caused by two errors. Melville posted two hits while Counard, Ashlyn Delfosse, and Kaye registered one hit. Kaye took the loss from the circle, allowing 10 runs (7 ER) on 11 hits while striking out six.
