A three-run rally in the seventh inning forced extra innings but it was not enough for Southern Door to beat Coleman Friday evening, falling in nine innings 5-4.
The Cougars and Eagles traded runs in the first two innings before the visitors tallied one run in the third inning and two more in the fourth. The Eagles were able to close the gap with just one out to play with when Braylon Berg hit a bases-clearing, three-run triple to force extra innings. A run-scoring single in the ninth inning gave the Cougars a one-run lead. Nick Beck would make his way over to third base in the bottom of the ninth inning after drawing a walk, but he was left stranded.
Tyler Neinas led the way with three hits while Caden Pierre registered two hits. Berg posted two RBI and Drew Daoust drove in one run.
