Eagles softball splits Elkhart Lake, Wrightstown matchups

The Southern Door softball team bounced back from a 15-10 loss to Elkhart Lake with a commanding 12-2 win over Wrightstown on Saturday.

In game one, the Eagles saw their nine run lead disappear in a single inning as the Resorters responded with 14 runs in the fifth inning. The Eagles would get only one of those runs back in the bottom of the fifth, but they gave back in the seventh inning. Alanah Kaye, Aubrey Plzak, Lexi Tassoul, and Samantha Melville all hit double in the game with three of them registering multi-hit games. Melville, Kaye, and Plzak also led the team with RBI at two.

In game two, the Eagles scored four in the third and six more in the fourth to effectively put the game away despite both teams scoring twice in the fifth inning. Samantha Melville shined from the circle, allowing two runs (1 ER) on one hit while striking out four. The Eagles were led by Ashlyn Delfosse, who went 4-4 with three runs scored and four more batted. Lexi Tassoul and Reese Vogel each had two RBI while Madyson Counard and Ava Uecker each tallied two hits in the win.
