The Southern Door softball team split their games with Oconto Falls on Friday, winning game one 4-1 before dropping game two 8-6.
In the first game, the Eagles scored runs in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 6th inning while holding the Panthers to just one run in the second inning. Ashley Delfosse paced the Eagles offense with two hits and a RBI while Alanah Kaye, Lexi Tassoul, and Alanna Paye each had one hit. Paye and Kaye combined to strike out 11 while allowing one run (1 ER) on three hits.
In the second game, the game swung back and forth with the Eagles answering a three-run first inning with three of their own, thanks to a three-run blast from Lexi Tassoul. The Eagles lost the lead briefly in the fifth inning before tying it back up on an Alanah Kaye double. However, they lost in the end as the Panthers plated two in the seventh inning. Samantha Melville and Grace Gutschow each had two hits in the loss taken by Melville, who allowed eight runs (5 ER) on eight hits while striking out seven.
