A 4-0 run deficit was too much for the Southern Door Eagles softball team as they fell 4-2 at home.
Alanah Kaye provided the offense late for the Eagles, hitting a solo home run in the sixth inning and drive in a run on a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning. The Eagles had the tying run at the plate with one out before striking out and flying out to end the threat.
Samantha Melville and Lexi Tassoul each had two hits for the Eagles. The pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts, but two Eagles errors bit them as only one of the four runs given up was earned.
