Eagles boys soar past Vikings on 105.1 The GOAT

Two fast starts to start the half made it a quick evening for the Southern Door Eagles boys basketball team as they beat Gibraltar Friday night 74-37.

The Eagles took a 10-0 lead in the opening minutes before Jeffrey Mize scored the game's first bucket for the Vikings. Caden Pierre and Liam Lindenberg traded three throughout the half as they both registered 15 points, but Drew Daoust provided the difference for the Eagles. He forced several Vikings turnovers, some of which contributed to his 14 first-half points as the Eagles took a 43-19 lead into the break.

The Eagles soared to an even faster start in the second half, clogging up passing lanes defensively and scoring 16 of the first 18 points of the frame. Lauden Berg scored nine of his 13 points in the second, adding to Pierre's 15 points and Daoust's 29 points. Meanwhile, no one could get going offensively for the Vikings with seven players making just one basket on the night. Aaron Brey, Kayin Jackson, Luke Rericha, Braden Kita, and Marco Jauregui all had three points to go along with Lindenberg's 15 points.
