Eagles fly together, and two Southern Door cross country runners took that seriously in Saturday's WIAA Sectional Meet hosted by Manitowoc Lutheran.
On the boys' side, Southern Door's Ben Grota and Lucas Conard ran identical 17:21 5K times to come in 4th and 5th place overall to earn their spots in the state field. Gibraltar's Graham Devoe (81st, 21:19), Algoma's Alex Kirchman (28th, 18:46), Sevastopol's Jarius Dadam (32nd, 18:55), and Kewaunee's Robin Kunesh (58th, 20:13) paced their individual teams.
Southern Door's Emma Bousley (8th, 20:59.0) paced the girls' team, finishing just outside of where she needed to be to qualify individually.
