Homecoming week got even sweeter Friday night as the Eagles handled the Peshtigo Bulldogs 34-7 under the lights in Brussels. The Bulldogs scored on their opening possession but would not see paydirt again the rest of the game.
After falling down 7-0 thanks to a 1-yard plunge by Bulldog QB Lincoln Nemec, the Eagles would rattle off 34 unanswered points starting on their very first possession. That first score came on a 4-yard rush by Grant Weber, turning the game 7-7. All momentum would swing in the Eagle's favor when Cruz Cavillo blocked a punt, picked up the ball, and rambled his way for the touchdown. Drew Daoust would add a pair of 2-yard touchdowns, putting the game at a 28-7 halftime score.
The only score in the second half would come in the third quarter when Daoust would find Lauden Berg for a 20-yard touchdown pass. One of the few blemishes on the night came on the missed extra point. The other minor infraction would go against Drew Daoust, who would be credited with an interception that bounced in and out of the arms of intended receiver Mayson Paye.
The Eagles' next game comes Friday, Sept 27, as they travel to Oconto.
