A late score spoiled the head coaching debut of Scott Mallien on Friday night as Southern Door fell to Oostburg 11-8 on the road.
A field goal by Oostburg's Cade Dirkse was the only point of the game until Southern Door's Drew Daoust found the endzone from inside the five-yard line to make it an 8-3 game in the third quarter. The Flying Dutchmen would answer in the fourth quarter when Caeden Steuerwald registered his own one-yard rushing score to give them the lead.
Daoust threw for 135 yards and rushed for 44 yards while throwing no touchdown passes or interceptions. Grant Weber led the Eagles with 52 yards on the ground. The Flying Dutchmen rushed 51 times for 242 yards, led by Charlie DePagter's 91 yards.
