The Southern Door Eagles baseball team hope to extend their season and the coaching career of John Berns Thursday afternoon when they travel to Manitowoc Lutheran to open the WIAA Tournament.

The Eagles had their five-game winning streak snapped in their regular season finale last Saturday, losing to St. Mary Catholic 11-0. The team stumbled in its limited non-conference, going 1-2 on the season compared to 10-6 in the Packerland Conference.

The Lancers have nearly identical records to the Eagles: 12-8 overall and 7-3 in the Big East Conference. They lost the title to Mishicot by one game. They had a three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday when they lost to New Holstein 5-3. 

Tim Kowols will host the call on U-102.1 beginning at 4:15 p.m., followed by the pregame show and the first pitch at 4:30 p.m. The game will also be available on NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com and U1021.com.
