The Southern Door softball team played Kewaunee in a split doubleheader on Tuesday, losing the first game 5-3 before winning two 3-2.
In game one, the Eagles allowed four runs in the final three innings after having the game tied at one after four. The Eagles rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh but came up short in the end. Sophia Counard drove in two runs on her home run, while Maydson Counard drove in the Eagles' other run on a ground out. The Storm took advantage of three Eagles errors to score their runs. Breanna Riha accounted for two of the Storm's five hits, while Sami Walechka and Vivian Bootz collected the RBI.
In game two, the Eagles scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning when Alannah Kaye clubbed a double to score Madyson Counard. Bella Price had two hits and an RBI in the game, with Counard also driving in a run. Jenna Rohr tried her hardest to help her cause on the mound, going 2-2 with a double. Lexi Hanrahan also had two hits, while Mariah Schlies drove in the lone earned run for the Storm.
