Eagles softball sweeps Vikings on the road

The Southern Door Eagles softball team needed just eight innings to score 30 runs across two games in a pair of 15-0 wins over Gibraltar on Saturday.

 

In the five inning affair to kick things off, Ashlyn Delfosse led the way with four hits and six RBI. Madyson Counard and Reese Vogel contributed three hits and two RBI apiece. Delfosse did it from the circle as well, going the full five inning win without giving up a hits while recording three strikeouts.

 

The second game was a more concise three innings as Bella Price, Madyson Counard, Reese Vogel, Sam Melville all had two hits. Price had three RBI while Delfosse, Counard, and Rylee Vogel all had two RBI. The Eagles scored nine runs in the opening frame to set the pace for the whole game. Courtney Foy provided the lone offensive spark for the Vikings as she hit a double in the third inning. McCartney Schwab recorded the Vikings' first hit of the day in the second inning of the second game. Samantha Melville threw the three innings for the Eagles, striking out seven and giving up two hits and one walk.
