The Southern Door Eagles scored first and never let go of their lead as they defeated the Valders Vikings 5-0 in their first game on Monday.

A passed ball in the first inning allowed Sophia Counard to score for the Eagles. Madyson Counard would take advantage of another Vikings miscue to score the Eagles' second run in the fourth inning before the Eagles tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning. Reese Vogel capped off the scoring with an RBI single in the sixth inning. 

Ashlyn Delfosse went the distance for the Eagles, shutting out the Vikings in seven innings of action, striking out seven along the way.
