Southern Door High School

Southern Door's Season Ends on Road to Crusaders 73-29 on U102.1

The Southern Door Eagles girls' tournament run ended on the road Friday night at the hands of the Sheboygan Lutheran Crusaders.  The Eagles offense couldn't get things going at first as the Crusaders press and inside height gave them the early advantage that would prove impossible to overcome.

It would take just over 5 minutes for the Eagles to score their first point, which came via a free throw.  Leading the way in scoring for the Eagles was Payton Gilbertson who finished the game with 14, followed by Isabella Price with 8. Makenna Geyer, Ashlyn Delfosse, and Sophia Counard would all contribute to the score column as well.

The Crusaders had a player hit a milestone that Southern Door fans have seen fairly recently as Sheboygan Lutheran player Alex Stricker would score her 100th point midway through the second half.

Basketball season for the school is not officially over yet as the boys will open their 2024 tournament run next week Friday against either Oconto or Peshtigo.
