Eagles girls visit Sheboygan Lutheran Friday on U-102.1

The Southern Door girls basketball team will try to keep the road wins coming when they head to Sheboygan Lutheran Friday night.

The road trip did not bother the Souther Door Eagles as they traveled to New Holstein and came home with a 47-41 victory Tuesday night. The Eagles fended off a late surge when a pair of 3-pointers by the Huskies Alyssa Schneider made it a single-possession game at one point.  Clutch free throws by Isabella Price and Sophia Counard would tip things back in the Eagles' favor. Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Isabella Price, who had 19, including going 9 of 13 from the free throw line, followed by Ashlyn Delfosse, who added 18 points.

The Crusaders had a bye in the first round but still entered the tournament winners of six of their last eight games en route to a 19-5 record. Taylor Brigham, Alex Stricker, and Addy Verhagen all average approximately 14 points per game, with Stricker approaching double-double territory with nine rebounds per game.

Jacob Nate and Matt Malvitz will have the action from Sheboygan Friday night on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7 p.m.
