The road trip did not seem to bother the Souther Door Eagles as they traveled to New Holstein and came home with a 47-41 victory Tuesday night.  Southern Door would use the absence of one of New Holsteins star players and some impressive defense to capture the victory and advance one game further in the 2024 WIAA Basketball Tournament.

 

The Eagles fended off a late surge when a pair of 3-pointers by the Huskies Alyssa Schneider made it a single-possession game at one point.  Clutch free throws by both Isabella Price and Sophia Counard would tip things back into the Eagles' favor. Leading the scoring for the Eagles was Isabella Price, who had 19, including going 9 of 13 from the free throw line, followed by Ashlyn Delfosse, who added 18 points.

 

The Eagles once again hit the road as a Round 2 matchup with #2 seed Sheboygan Lutheran awaits them Friday night, with a 7 pm tipoff and pregame at 6:45 p.m. on U102.1 and streamed on the New Radio Sports Network.
