Eagles girls battle the Storm on U-102.1 Friday

The Southern Door Eagles girls' basketball team will try to continue their winning ways while keeping down a motivated Kewaunee Storm squad on Friday night in Brussels.

The Eagles are coming off a 56-48 victory over the Gibraltar Vikings earlier this week. Payton Gilbertson scored 15 points, Sophia Counard added 14, and Ashlyn Delfosse scored 10 in the win. The score was 29-19 at halftime, and the Eagles managed to hang on for the win. It was their third straight Packerland Conference victory.

In a back-and-forth battle between two Packerland Conference’s top teams, the Sevastopol Pioneers edged out the Storm 38-33 on Monday. Kewaunee’s leading scorer, guard Jade Kroll, was held scoreless in the first, came out with two early 3s, and led the Storm to take the lead back.  Kewaunee would lead by as much as 5 in the second half, led by Demmin and Kroll, who would finish the game with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Henry Annen and Reece Robillard will have the call from Brussels on U-102.1 beginning at 7:15 p.m., with the pregame show followed by the tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
