The Southern Door Eagles girls' basketball team jumped to a 21-14 halftime lead and never let go in a 39-33 win over Algoma Thursday night.

Payton Gilbertson led the charge as she knocked down three three-pointers in the opening half to enter the locker room with 11 points and end her night with 14 points. Isabella Price matched her teammate with 14 points, while Sophia Counard added nine points in the Eagles win.

The Wolves dropped their third straight game and their fourth in the last five games despite Ryley Zimmerman leading all scorers with 15 points and Brooke Mattson chipping in 10 points.
