After finding out their seeding over the weekend, the Southern Door Eagles softball team picked up an extra non-conference game to attempt to stay fresh, facing off with Denmark Tuesday.
The Eagles recently took care of business against NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy on Friday, winning both games of the doubleheader by scores of 13-1 and 15-0. Those two games completed Southern Door’s Packerland slate, as the Eagles went 11-5. Southern Door can finish in either second or third place in the Packerland by the end of the regular season.
Denmark has had a strong season this year, sitting third in a highly competitive North Eastern Conference that features Luxemburg-Casco and Freedom. Ranked ninth in Division Two, Denmark received a three seed in the WIAA playoffs. The Vikings will look to bring back some momentum after splitting four games in three days, including wins over reigning state champions Freedom and a loss to 10-12 Waupaca.
First pitch from Denmark is slated for 4:30 p.m.
