Eagles pile runs on Oconto; dominate doubleheader on U-102.1

The Southern Door Eagles rode big innings in both games of the doubleheader they played against the Oconto Blue Devils, winning the first game in 3 innings 16-1 and winning game two 19-9 on U-102.1.

Game one was started by Ashlyn Delfosse, who threw all three innings of the game, who allowed just one hit in the three innings that were pitched. The Eagles offense was lead by their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hitters in the lineup in Chloe Lustila, Ashlyn Delfosse, and Callie Miller. The three players alone combined for nine of the sixteen runs scored, as every player in Southern Door’s starting lineup came around to score in game one.

Oconto’s Annika Schlueter was charged with all 16 runs against her.

In the second game, it was all about the second inning for the Eagles, as they put 10 runs on the board in that inning alone, with two home runs coming from Colbi Jacquet and Payton Gilbertson. The 19 runs are the most of the season in a game for Southern Door, who were unable to end the game early at any point.

Southern Door’s Ashlyn Delfosse started the game for the Eagles, allowing 4 runs. Chloe Lusitla pitched five and a third innings for Southern Door, giving up five runs.

Oconto had Jaelin Kumhala throw for game two, as she went all seven innings, giving up the 19 runs.
