Southern Door softball uses 12 run 2nd to dominate Tigers

The Southern Door Eagles softball team kept their winning ways against the Wrightstown Tigers going on Thursday night, capitalizing on a strong hitting performance in a 15-3 win in just 5 innings. 

 

It was one big inning for Southern Door in the win over the Tigers of Wrightstown, scoring 12 runs in the second inning and going through their entire batting order one and a half times in the inning. Payton Gilbertson, Chloe Lustila and Sophia Counard were just some of the names who came up big in the inning, with nearly every player reaching base at some point in the 2nd. 

 

Southern Door had 18 total hits, led by Callie Miller with 3 hits, Lustilla also with 3 hits, Sophia Counard 2 hits, Ashlyn Delfossse 2 hits, and Gilbertson 2 hits. Ashlyn Delfosse was the winning pitcher on the night with four innings pitched and four strikeouts while allowing the three runs. 

 

Southern Door will take on conference foe Algoma on Saturday for a Doubleheader.
