Eagles' Diller and Counard throw perfection as Eagles sweep doubleheader

The Southern Door Eagles got off to a great start defending their crown as Packerland Conference Champs, sweeping Sevastopol in their two game doubleheader.

In the opener, Tyler Neinas got the ball for the first four innings and threw about as good as he could as he was given some strong run support from the Eagles offense. Southern Door drew many walks and had some HBP’s to help them score runs in the first few innings. Will Jandrin shut the game down in one inning of relief as the game was done in five innings.

In the second game, the Eagles did not let their foot off the gas, rolling over the Pioneers 9-0. Christian Counard got the ball for Southern Door for the first four innings, striking out 11 of the 12 batters he faced. Jaden Diller was on for one inning of relief striking out all three batters, resulting in a perfect game for the duo and 14 strikeouts in 15 batters faced.

Southern Door will matchup with Reedsville on Thursday while Sevastopol travels to Goodman/Pembine on Thursday as well.
