Pioneers take first from Eagles in doubleheader; second delayed by darkness

The Southern Door Eagles and Sevastopol Pioneers doubleheader played Tuesday afternoon was everything it was hyped up to be, with the Pioneers taking the opener 11-7 in 8 innings, and the second game delayed nearly halfway through. 

 

Southern Door came back from a 7-0 hole to tie it with 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Luedtke had an RBI single to take the lead in the top of the 8th. Then, Addison Schauske hit a 3-run homerun in the top of the 8th. First game stats for the Eagles included Chloe Lustila with 2 hits including a double, Ashlyn Delfosse with 2 hits and Callie Miller had 2 hits with a double (2 RBIs). The Pioneers had Bailey Rikkola with 2 hits and 3 runs scored, plus Libby Ash chimed in with 2 hits.

 

In the second game, Southern Door leads 10-4 before the game was suspended due to darkness in the bottom of the fifth inning with two outs and a runner on first.
